Commander Deck Tech: Emrakul, the Promised End

Just don't fight the tentacle hug, man. Just... just let it happen. Struggling will only get the slime everywhere. No one wants to get the c'thulu slime everywhere. ... Also, to be fair, you never saw one of the beings transformed by Emrakul complaining about the transformation! Even though they had, like, 50 mouths to do so! So it must not be as bad as everyone makes it out to be.

I have a buddy who has a similar deck but they use the original Kozilek and tons of artifact ramp to get Kozilek out really, really quick:)

Mr. Mammuthus Africanavus. I have a similar deck But use the great distortion...use a ton of mana rocks to empty my hand and draw a bunch a use what was drawn to counter with his ability since I will probably draw more rocks , I use the to counter important early moves. The earliest iv put him out has been turn two.

I personally prefer Kozilek The Great Distortion for a colorless Commander because the card draw is useful and being able to counter spells without paying mana makes you unpredictable. Emrakul is definitely much better at killing the opponent by herself though because of the flying and trample. I also like the group hug theme for Emrakul because she forced Tamiyo to imprison her at the end of the Eldritch Moon storyline so it kind of fits thematically.

Yes, exactly! Your opponents shall not strike you because of your tentacly caresses helping to ease their worries. Also I just wanted to have a political/ group hug deck when I made the request. PS: Swap out a card for Tamiyo's Journal for MAXIMUM FLAVOR. Because... you know, sometimes you just can't drop $90 on Kharn Liberated and want something fluffy and fun.

How about Mimic Vat to copy your opponents good creatures or even to pump out tokens of your anihilator eldrazi and you can help control when you shuffle your graveyard back into you library

Maybe an azors gareway would be goid here as you have 40 life in commander and do to you having many creatures with power 5 or greater transforming it would be pretty easy

(Gnomes here) I had NO idea that Helm of Awakening even existed, so that's a wonderful addition to the deck I'm building. Same with Temple Bell and Font of Mythos. I suppose that Blebe's Portal wouldn't really be necessary, given just how much mana ramp and cost reduction is being dumped into this deck (have Blinkmoth Urn and the Immortal Sun in there instead of Ugin or Kharn... because a $750 deck is a bit craaaaaaaazy.) What do you think about the Urn and Tamyos Journal being in there too, just to give you ridiculous card draw and mana ramp (given how many artifacts are in this deck), and the journal can tutor up *any card* every three turns. The journal also serves the purpose of fulfilling flavor, since it's not only from the same block, but also filled with Tamyo's spells and discoveries (probably ravings) about Emerakul herself. ... Yes I loved both Innistrad blocks, why do you ask?

So you don’t need colorless in a commanders mana cost to have colorless casted spells in your deck?

Colorless isn't a part of ANY creature's color identity, so if you have a legendary colorless creature as your commander your color identity is null. Since no colors are part of the commander's identity, no cards *with* a color identity may be included in the deck, but since colorless cards have no identity as long as they don't have abilities that require or produce colored mana, they can be included within a colorless commander deck. They can also be included in any other deck too, since they have no identity and thus have no restrictions on where they can be included. As far as Emrakul, the Promised End's mana cost goes, she is still colorless despite not having the colorless symbols, as the "any color" symbol is still treated as being colorless over-all (hence why things such as Darksteel Ingot or Steel Hellkite are still considered colorless, despite the lack of colorless mana symbols.) Basically, the only mana symbols that matter for color identity are the colored ones, and colorless mana symbols are just meant to make it harder for decks that have few colorless-mana producing sources to cast the spell (not the case in this deck, obviously.)
