Konrad triggers when a creature leaves your graveyard.

It doesn't work when they leave your opponent's graveyard.

Tapping Ancient Tomb, untapping it with Deserted Temple and tapping again nets you 3 mana. Just tapping both lands also nets you 3 mana. Each time you did it, you paid 4 life for nothing.

Konrad is a lot of fun. I threw one together last week and have had a ton of fun playing it.

Poor Olivia. She’s just getting picked on. You used the bog on me game on and Mtgo told me no in game two..... needed a mana crypt off the wheel to end it. So yes I was definitely digging lol.

Something to note is that you were missing several Konrad triggers by playing a land and getting Bloodgast back before playing Konrad that turn. Free damage from sequencing is free damage.

Yeah I think I noticed on the very last turn I think. First time out with this build of the deck so still getting used to it.

I don't know if you read comments PJ, but Konrad is not aristocrats, although you can build him like that, his two main components out of the three is milling and getting things out of your graveyard (via reanimate or delving or dredging) so that's the brutal thing painter servant + grindstone on yourself is everyone dead, or on an opponent, necropotence is also an auto-kill combo.

I tried to build it as aristocrats. Turns out the combo half of Syr Konrad is all you really need, but thats also why I put it in quotes. I put a funny combo with morality shift and an eldrazi. I believe that should trigger every creature in the library twice with Konrad in play....seems funny.

I have a question on the strength of a deck. I have a golos lands theme deck, and it is reasonably strong. It has almost all of the good lands cards, save gaea’s cradle and the dark depths combo, and can threaten to win 5r game around turns 6-10 with low levels of interaction from my opponents, and also has some big threats at the top end. What power level out of 10 would it be.
@CommanderReplay5 жыл бұрын
Complicated question. I am guessing you watched the recent Command Zone video. As a really simple answer, I would say Golos decks that have any kind of effort put into them at all probably start at like 7.5 or 8. However, Ive recently started thinking about decks more like an RPG character instead of a linear number. Different things can make a strong. Speed can make it strong, but maybe it has bad resilience. Or maybe its just all resilience, or is very hard to interact with. Golos is a case where its pretty tough to interact with it because it usually just puts more lands into play than most other decks. And unless you run winter orb or armageddon its very tough to stop someone from just having more mana than you. Golos has some element of speed in the sense that you case big 8-12 mana spells many turns ahead of when they should be cast. Its also a very reasonable card advantage engine. So it has a lot of qualities that make it strong. Now the useful portion of this I think comes in the conversation before the game. If I tell you my deck is an 8 before the game, that doesn't give you the best idea of which deck you might want to play to give yourself a fair chance at the game. However, if I say my deck is fast, or if I say its slow but powerful, you will have a better idea of what decks to grab. Thats how i've been thinking about it as of late. Ive been meaning to publish my thoughts on it, but I am still working out some kinks.

I am still puzzled on that Living Death play? Did the one player just forget the other had the Craterhoof?
@CommanderReplay5 жыл бұрын
I think it made sense actually. It got rid of consecrated sphinx and got them a nice board state, they likely forgot the timing of the crater hoof trigger, but even if they didn't I think it was still reasonable, it did a lot of damage and put us into a pretty bad spot. Could have easily lost from there.
