My favorite comedy of the 80's. The jump from the landing gear of the plane that is taking off is so epic. He's moving a few hundred miles per hour a couple hundred feet in the air and jumps off and luckily he lands in about a foot of marshy water to soften the fall.... he brushes off the mud, checks his watch and starts his mission. I also love how many security guards are at the mall. It's like Fort Knox. So much fun

That’s actually real. Took me years before reading accounts of it in the military context. But I’ve had similar experiences in nature. Being an HSP (Highly Sensitive Person) it’s not difficult. Basically, it’s a comparison between a baseline (i.e. “normal” types and degrees of stimulus) and off baseline. Now that I think of it, Matrix didn’t say (although implied) he smelled their body odor or other personally related smells, like clothing detergents, fabric softeners, chewing gum, insect repellents, etc. He also could have detected the lubricants or cleaning agents used for their rifles. If poorly trained, the adversaries also could have infiltrated to closely using vehicles that give off exhaust (e.g. from an internal combustion engine) and that is a huge mistake.

Arnold had the greatest run of action movies of any action guy ever and it just happened to be in the 80's when that genre really came into it's own and became it's own thing. Honestly, I don't think we need to arbitrarily limit it to a 5-year run, instead of just best ever classic action-film run. Bennett is one of the most homoerotic villains ever. No one ever remembers the flipped Porsche flipping back over and being completely damage free either. That being said, this movie, while laughable, is a lot of fun. The crazy Caribbean influenced score is so similar to 48 Hrs. (Same composer obviously…) and the ending song We Fight For Love is a hair band banger.
