This is the first year in a while that I’ve paid close attention to VCT but I can’t think of another team that’s participated in every single grand final (regional and international) for the whole year. That’s actually amazing and shows the consistency of GenG. As a Sen fan I hate that we’re in this death bracket with FPX, TH, and GenG but as a valorant fan I’m excited to see the masters grand finals play out again lol. I can’t wait to see GenG with the home crowd advantage this time.

Performing well in your region is one thing but also performing well internationally is another.

They literally dominated last year to the point that them getting the Champs trophy was inevitable. It was also a big reason as to why them getting beaten by KC surprised people. Feels like just yesterday, I recall the Brazilian crowd emptying in 2 minutes so FNATIC gave a heart felt speech after they won to nobody. Chinese venues is just depressing in general if it is not their team winning, Idk when it got this bad, 2016-2017 when Riot went for the crazy venue china for their League esports Everybody was cheering for whoever won and lost, T1 vs RNG was alot of cheers but also periods of silence from what Faker was doing with his Galio. SSG vs T1 at the finals was probably the peak of the pop at the venue and even after T1's loss they still cheered for them after the heartbreaking loss. The most recent memory I had was probably KR DWG vs CH Suning(Now WBG) where after DWG won there was genuinely no cheers from the shanghai crowd. DWG's victory was so awkward and made it hard to watch.

And as much as I love Team Heretics, in those grandfinals I was rooting for both teams, because GenG winning Shanghai just felt like the biggest payoff. Well crafted video, however, I do feel like there is somewhat of a misunderstanding as to the extent and scale of this “hate” gen g received. The lack of support at the games were most likely due to the fact that the event providers were afraid that showing support for geng is going to cause controversy that gets spread beyond the gaming community.I also feel the need to say that if you read chinese or knows what’s going on in douyin or bilibili, you’d realize that the majority of chinese valorant players do respect geng for their skill and professionalism. The people realize that politics should be separated from esports, and have shown clips of star players like t3xture who received a lot of praise in the chinese valorant community. I feel like this lack of objectivity in your videos might misdirect the viewers on what the chinese valorant scene is actually like. At the end of the day,we’re just people who like to play valorant, no mater what nationality or political stance we have or what government we live under.
