I love inflatable kayaks. They are tough, resilient and even if one chamber gets punctured or fails they are still capable of floating. In the past, I have adapted my two-seater inflatable kayak so that I can sleep in it on the water. This looks like the new standard for inflatable kayaks. Very nice design. I would have no worries about using this kayak on my adventures.

To be honest, it's the best compact inflatable I found so far. No hassle with frames and the backpack looks nice. The price is acceptable, good for long time investment. Best of all, no speed and many jumpcuts in this video :)

He folds the kayak along its length (first fold) at the center of the keel, so the left and right sides meet at the top of the fold. Folded this way, the valves on the top of the kayak do not lie flat. Folding the kayak just beneath the valves, so the side on top is a few inches below the side on the bottom, allows the kayak to fold flatter. This hack was the difference between easily fitting the kayak in the bag and struggling to make it fit. Placing the seat unfolded between the bow and stern sections also allows a flatter pack. I don't put the pump in the bag. Learning to pack this thing really is the difference between a great experience and a terrible one.

Thanks for the tip; just getting used myself to this boat. Do you use the pump to deflate as well? I read it makes quite a difference when trying to pack in the bag. I've tried the "deflating mode" but I don't see a big difference. (I'm not sure in which position the valves are supposed to be set for it to work)

​@@CaptainHugito I tried deflate mode but like you didn't find much benefit. The boat deflates itself well enough with the valves open. I get it in the bag without much difficulty now, but folding it as described above can leave it a bit too wide at the last fold. Allowing the top valves to lie not quite flat help. Inserting the seat folded rather than unfolded at the boat's final fold may also help. You find something that works for you. I only fold it for transport now. At home, I inflate it to 5 psi and hang it on the wall of my garage. Looks cool and makes a nice place to store things. Also good to sweep it out and wipe it off after a trip.

I also struggle a bit to fold it as I only used it twice. I found the back blader and valve make it difficult to fold. I will try your method. Also I m scared that letting it folded for a long time in the bag pack would damage it. I need to understand how to position the foot rest to make myself more stable. I capsized twice yesterday when not paddling and being a bit too relaxed.

Et oui je confirme gros problème de stabilité, en rivière calme ok, on s'adapte Mais sur un lac même avec un petit clapot ça ne le fait pas sauf à dégonfler énormément le compartiment principal... Je vous conseille vivement de l'essayer sur rivière ou plan d'eau très calme avant de vous aventurer en mer Remonter sur le kayak même en eau totalement calme est très compliqué...

Je viens de tester le nouveau kayak X500 avec un ami. Nous étions emballés à l’idée de ce test en vue d’un achat probable. Départ de la plage du Mourillon à Toulon avec un petit mistral avec un vent de 15 noeuds environ (25 km/h~). Ce kayak a été bien pensé : l’idée du sac avec bretelle peut être très pratique pour transporter seul le kayak jusqu’au lieu de départ. Urne rapidité de gonflage idéale (5 min et c’est fini). Le produit est bien conçu et c’est un belle fabrication. Il a belle allure et nous étions prêts à partir avec nos pagaies carbone. Nous pratiquons le kayak en mer; nous revenions d’une semaine de kayak (kayaks gonflables pontés) en itinerance en Corse et cherchions un kayak plus profilé et plus rapide. Le X500 nous semblait être le kayak adéquat à un prix très intéressant. Bref on le met à l’eau et la on a tout de suite remarqué qu’il avait un très (trop) bon niveau de flottabilité. L’hiloire est assez grand pour rentrer sans difficulté mais sitôt parti dès la première vague le kayak de mon ami se retourne. Bon j’y vais à mon tour et effectivement le kayak est très instable (bon il est vrai qu’il y avait un peu de vagues). Après un essai d’une heure (en restant à 200 m de la plage) et 5 dessalages on abandonne. À noter qu’il est difficile de remonter sur le kayak seul. En conclusion je dirai que ce kayak est destiné soit à une clientèle de kayakistes (très) avertis et confirmés soit à une clientèle qui part en kayak uniquement par temps calme sans vent et sans vague. Dans ce cas ce doit être un vrai plaisir. Pour l’instant on va garder nos kayaks actuels et on attendra la version améliorée avec une meilleure stabilité. Dernier conseil si vous êtes intéressé pour acheter ce kayak tester le avant (merci à D4 de nous offrir cet avantage)

On ne connait pas le division de ce kayak. 240 ou 245..? personnellement, je ne me hasarderais pas à 2 nautiques des côtes avec un gonflable et surtout pas celui là.

Ce canoë-kayak est magnifique mais je pense qu'il est pour lac et mer très calme effectivement dès que la mer est formé on a tendance à se foutre à l'eau il est pour des personnes confirmés

I've just got mine few days ago, can't wait to try it. Regarding video - I don't like that you've cut parts where he is entering/exiting kayak. I'd like to see that also as a "tutorial". Also - you've cut the final part where he puts whole "backpack" on his back... I find it very hard to do so if it is placed on the ground, but rather needs to be put on some "higher ground" so you can croutch and easier put it on your back.

Ce kayak est super sur l'eau en V2 mais il n'est certainement pas aussi facile que sur cette vidéo à replier et encore moins de réussir à refermer le sac alors que je n'y met que le kayak sans son siège ni la pompe

C'est une idée où le centre de gravité est haut ? Car ça doit giter pas mal dans une eau un peu formée. Sinon c'est vraiment bien pensé la fermeture de trappe étanche car elle ne dépasse pas et donc une prise au vent moindre.

Merci je l'ai vu en vrai à Décathlon Antibes, très rigide, et léger. Je me demande pourquoi vous ne le recommandez pas pour la rivière, puisqu'il est ponté et "jupable". Peut-être le dropstich est monocouche ce qui est un peu limite pour l'usure par frottements? (bien que j'utilise perso du dropstich monocouche en rivière classe II sans problème depuis 2 ans)

La construction en Dropstich n'est pas un problème, le kayak est solide. Il est conçu pour la randonnée mer, eau calme et rivière jusqu’à classe II.

Ok, c'est bien ce qu'il me semblait. Je vous suggère de préciser sur la fiche produit qu'il est utilisable en rivière classe I et II (vous écrivez "rivière calme" ce qui peut être interprété par "rivière sans rapides").
