This is cool and all but would rather see more Gingery machine videos. Milling machine updates, dividing head, and different furnace types would be really watchworthy. I do like your videos.

This was interesting seeing the whole project. I recently had to install a mini-split system and didn't know how to finish once I had gotten the indoor unit mounted with its line set and wiring cable penetrated through the wall. I'm an electrician and I usually stop with getting power to the equipment. On that note, the only thing I would point out is that you'd be better off coming from the bottom or low on the side of the outdoor electrical panel with an LB (conduit body) rather than through the top. The reason is that the enclosure is rated for outdoor weather, but adding a penetration to the top of the box voids that rating or requires a special weatherproof fitting (usually a Meyers hub) to keep it sealed properly. Still, great video!

Welcome back! Keep it up, always love the quality of your videos. I'll watch anything that's useful and informative. Have you talked to Senville about their warranty at all? I know they typically want a licensed HVAC installer. I recently went with a pioneer unit mainly for that reason (I'm 608 certified, but not a licensed HVAC contractor in my state). If Senville is open to sponsoring a channel like this, I would hope they would have a way of working with qualified DIY installers.

I was trained by an journeyman pipe fitter and journeyman electrician, but it was never documented as he was retired at the time. It's frustrating to have knowledge but be limited in your allowed use fortunately the state I live in just requires you to call the local building inspector upon completion of a project and they verify your work for free before activating these systems.

Well done my fellow DIY engineer! My only concern is how well the white line set insulation will hold up to UV exposure.

Welp. I don't think I have ever before now missed living in North Carolina; in Mass, even residential work that's grid-tied (replacing an OUTLET!) technically requires a licensed pro.
@StripeyType2 жыл бұрын
Oh! wow! I had never considered the possibility of some manner of special license classification. Off to do some reading...

He used a PVC coupling to tap onto the top of the panel? Wtf? And also, you need a meyers hub for any top penetration. He’s an electrical engineer? LOL.
