I want to build a soft play area and restaurant for a first business. I have 60k. I need to borrow 500k for my first business…is this realistic that someone will let me borrow this much for my first business?

Hi Jim. it will depend what security you can offer for the loan. I can’t see anybody offering £500000 on an unsecured basis. If you’re buying a building for £500,000 then commercial lenders would expect you to have at least a 25% deposit. The questions I will ask for How are you for the loan from current income What experience do you have What security can you offer for the loan. In the current market I don’t think it’s realistic based on your numbers unless you can raise a significant amount of cash deposit secured on other property you own However I don’t really fully understand your proposal, your income situation and assets. You should always talk to a professional who can ask the right questions and quickly give you an indication of what is available. Happy to chat it through if you want to call the office on [phone]

Hi. You can borrow as little as £26000 and even some of the high street lenders will look at loans below £100K. It depends on a few factors.
