Standard was west of Ohio--in the East Coast, it was American. Also, before there was Exxon, there was Esso and Enco, in different parts of the country.

00:24 - Sugar Crisp - Ruth Buzzi as Granny Goodwitch, and Gerry Matthews as Sugar Bear. The characters were originally in an animated series called "Linus the Lionhearted", produced by General Foods, to promote its Post-brand children's cereals. The commercials were integrated (part of the show), and all of the characters were mascots for Post cereals. It took many complaints from parents and child educational experts, that children couldn't tell the difference between a show and its commercials, to convince the FTC to ban integrated commercials from children's shows in 1969. Since all of the characters were Post cereal mascots, the series was quickly cancelled. In the 1980s, when the Reagan Administration struck down regulations limiting advertising time on TV, children's TV became a free-for-all, with Hasbro and other companies producing animated series around their toys. These series were just half-hour commercials, without overtly telling kids to ask their parents to buy the products.

Too Bad, even with Linus as still as part of the Macy's Thanksgiving parade, LtL was too cool for network then to be rerun.l>Sheldon Leonard starring as Linus
