Any given military member may have any opinion they see fit but the military itself and the member as a representative of their service does not. This is a fine hair to split but to clarify. In my military time I, Joe Momma could have any opinion that crossed my head, go to demonstrations and all that. However, in uniform, as CPO Joe Momma, I had none nor did the Navy itself. It is essential that they stay that way. The duty is to the Constitution alone. This guy guy has pushed this line on more than a few occasions.
