The thing I've always appreciated about Commissioned is that the lyrics could never be confused for random scripture plucked out and repeated, but deep theological concepts that you cannot sing without reassessing your relationship with God. That paired with POWERFUL music arrangements that cannot be classified as generic "gospel" but truly musical masterpieces on their own.

Well said. Accurately interpreted with scripture. That's why their music continues to minister today. I'm 43 and this was very impactful throughout some very rough patches in my adolescent and teenage years. Now, i continue to try "give love away," as it has been given to me.

I was a child who was very lonely and abused and this group ministered to my soul sooooo many nights. I thank GOD for these young men. I finally found love thru CHRIST - real true love. HE gave it away to me on calvary & because of HIS love i am here today. When i should have lost my mind - GOD'S amazing love, mercy & grace kept me. I withstood so many storms and I am a witness to this song that if you don't give it away then it truly isn't love. GOD taught me (and still teaching me) how to love others no matter what they do or don't do. Amen. It’s so hard to watch this knowing BISHOP BROOKS has passed and FRED HAMMOND is going through so much physically, and COMMISSIONED hasn’t been able to reconnect and produce one last album before everyone dies and goes to be with the LORD.
