what really did it for me with commissioned is they sang the Word of God in beautiful harmony. Don't get any better than that. I really think this is the most powerful gospel group for they truly sang the Good News/The Gospel.

First of all, Commissioned mentored Take 6, and they'll be the first to say so; there is no "competition" in singing the Gospel. The Lord allowed Take 6 a platform that was uniquely for them to reach souls. Commissioned had their platform as well, with the gifting of Fred Hammond and Michael Brooks producing. All of the members were just immensely talented, and it seems that EVERY song I heard them sing, Ministered to me. I was just coming back into the Body of Christ after backsliding, and God used them to encourage me.

This is one of my Top Five Commissioned songs. I didn’t discover it until 1990 and I’ve been slain by it since. They have forever made their mark not just in Gospel Music, but in modern music in general. They’ve been the blueprint for so many groups. Great song ,Great message ,Great Group. Anointed BROTHERS in The LORD i remember when i first saw thier tape in the music store. I never heard of them at that time. I said to myself they remind me of the brothers and i young men serving GOD. It was about 8 of us from our neighborhood. I bought the tape and start buying each Album they recorded. They are one of my favorite Gospel groups. I thank GOD he choose them to BLESS us with such Anointed music that still BLESS me today. Love you Brothers you were a great inspiration in my Christian walk. Your music will forever remain within my soul.

Glad every song ministered to you.. Every song ministered to me as well. Their lyrics were/are DEEP. There's no competition in singing gospel, praise God. HOWEVER, I can still say what I felt at the time/AND STILL FEEL lol! (Lord, help me). Just because God gave them both a platform doesn't change what I felt. I thank God for Commissioned.

Omg I remember a sleep over with some church friends and we woke up and somebody wanted to sing this song so everyone find there notes I jumped on the alto note and the harmony was so tight. God blessed us. So sorry we never sang it in front of the church. But those great memories.

@neetrab I love both groups, but honestly, I can't compare them, because their styles are completely different. Commissioned was anointed and their music was scriptural. Take 6 were pioneers in a modern a capella sound, and their harmonies are impeccable. They're both great in their own ways, but no where near each other in sound or style!

@lionstudent - Me and my ENTIRE family have been trying to figure out many of the words to this song (and "Perilous Times") since it came out..lol! We were even in the car just the other day and listened hard and no one could STILL figure out the words. @drrtree - I think I just didn't like the fact that they won over Commissioned sometimes whenever the Stellar Awards were on back in the day. I didn't think it was fair being that they weren't even strickly gospel...but that's just me. I couldn't stand that because I wasn't really into Take 6 like I was/am into Commissioned. That's all..
