My brothers, my sisters, our union is once again threatened! Equality evades after 155 years of liberation! Renew our Union! Hoorah friends Hoorah! Down with old hatreds, let Love fill your hearts! As we rally 'round the flag Friends, let our hearts beat as one! Fellowship between us all in UNION!!!

Ey boys, I'm a German born American, but I love this country. To hear that song from you guys, African Americans, is to speak truth to history. The Civil War cost America 700,000 lives, but it freed an entire group from bondage. So, America can fill it's free men ranks with a million free men more. Shouting the battle cry of freedom.

Absolutely wonderful! This song has always seemed incredibly moving to me, but marching bands or pipe organs never capture how earnest and sincere the lyrics are. You guys get it! Phenomenal harmonies, heartfelt singing. There is no better version of this song anywhere. Hurrah, boys, hurrah!

Good a capella harmonics. Original interpretation, i.e. to transmute from a marching motif into a lyrical, almost lullaby one. Nice try!

The Union had slavery legal in 4 states. The blacks fought for the Confederacy, too. Read a book. I really do not see the poetic justice you speak of.

Lincoln initially fought to stop slavery from expanding; he never thought he could interfere with it where it already existed. Also, those states abolished slavery on their own during the war. Slavery was already declining in those border states. Look it up.
