At least in US, you can manufacture explosives for personal use. There's rules about quantities and how long you can have them and transporting and selling them are big no nos. But the farmer crafting a small bomb to blow up rocks on their own farm could potentially be just fine, so long as the state or municipality didn't have any additional laws prohibiting it. But then on the other end, you could go way further with all of the "selling X without a license" laws. Many states have "cottage food" exemptions, but once you get in to making enough money for it to be a business you have to have licenses and inspections to sell practically anything that is intended for human consumption. I just assume the Ferngill Republic, or at least Stardew Valley specifically, has extremely lax regulation precisely so that players don't have to deal with that sort of thing.

The Qi's Extended Family quest has children of the legendary fish, with the exceptions of the angler fish (which wouldn't be extinct) and the Mutant Carp, which is most likely not recognized as its own species, and if it was, there would probably be more of them. The extended family quest fish can be caught indefinitely, unlike the normal legendary fish having a cap of one of each.

Krobus actually has a line of dialogue about this: “...Have you encountered others like me, in the mines? I'm sorry if they were hostile towards you. You see, we've learned to fear humans... there have been too many... unpleasant encounters. You haven't... slain any of my friends, have you?” Of course, the Adventurer's Guild actively rewards you for killing shadow people. Since the Adventurer's Guild is able to operate openly without even trying to hide their "Monster Eradication Goals," I'm guessing the shadow people in the mines must not have rights. Maybe the shadow people in the mines invaded the mines and are treated as criminals holed up in their lair, or maybe they're just victims of discrimination. Either way, it's probably legal (whether it's ethical is another question).

jaywalking depends, in america it's a crime but some countries don't have it as a law, since they assume it's common sense to not cross a road where vehicles actively go across. USA does the opposite, it *is* a crime to cross a road designed for vehicles because people are stupid enough to do it (in general, not just americans...). it's intended to be a "fool me once" type of law, where you do it once, get penalized (or worse, injured by a car), then don't commit it again. it looks bad on paper, but it's meant to prevent accidents more than make money off of ne'er-do-wells.

Louis doesn't strike me as the kind of guy that's cool with just letting people pass on his taxes and you ARE that towns economy and he needs his golden statues. Few ideas off the top of my head: 1. If the explosive ammo is considered high explosive, there’s probably some sort of law broken there 2 and 3. That's actually a half truth the red cross intentionally perpetuates to protect their commercial trademark. The red cross symbol's association with the geneva convention is that it is a designated protection symbol for humanitarian operations in compliance with the convention and is not limited to the actual red cross organization. The warcrime would be misusing the symbol within that context, such as by having soldiers wear it, thereby forcing your enemy to attack people wearing the red cross and eroding its effectiveness as a protective symbol for humanitarian purposes such as by doctors. But, like everything else in the geneva convention, that has no relevance outside of war. In the context of a video game like stardew valley, using the red cross symbol is at most a violation of the international red cross organization's commercial trademark, no different than using mickey mouse would violate disney's trademark. However, this trademark has objectively been genericized for all of living memory at this point with it being so consistently used to represent anything medical that it no longer has any specific association with just the red cross organization in popular perception. The red cross knows this, which is why they themselves have brought up the legally irrelevant geneva convention when browbeating people in to not using the symbol in media. They know that if they tried to sue someone like concerned ape for using the red cross like this that the most likely outcome would actually be them officially losing their trademark and their exclusive right to license the symbol for use on medical and emergency supplies. But, at the same time, they worry that if they do nothing the symbol will become even more genercized to the point that someone could actively come after them and have it stripped from them rather than them losing it from their own actions. And so they go around throwing the geneva convention at people towards whom it doesn't apply hoping to scare them in to backing down. Mayor Lewis is the one who collects the items you put in the shipping bin, so given that he's the one who collects everyone's taxes, it's possible he just deducts income tax from what he pays you for the stuff you ship. That said, if you're receiving money from villagers for bringing them items, selling stuff to shop owners, or otherwise making money during the day, that's income that you're failing to declare.

in ye olden days before the internet... one went to the library or post office where all the tax forms were available. you had to figure out what forms were needed, pick them up, fill them out... and when i was really tiny, there weren't even copy machines yet! Putting a fish into a body of water that isn't their normal ecosystem is a crime. (So, for an example, if you took a River fish and threw it into the ocean) It is also a crime to keep wild fish as "pets" and I'd say putting them in a fish pond would count as owning them as a pet.

Interesting note: "Jaywalking" is only a crime in the U.S. The American car manufacturers basically invented this crime and got it passed into law, because they were tired of cars being considered "dangerous", just because they killed and injured so many people each year. They started a _massive_ publicity campaign through all media at the time, aimed at re-defining in the minds of the American populace what roads were for. Public roads, which had historically been considered _everybody's,_ with cars just being the newest and fastest conveyance to join in, were now to be considered the _exclusive_ property of cars, and cars alone. The term "jaywalking" (="walking stupidly/foolishly") was invented to shame any pedestrians making use of their right to cross the road, and to make it seem like any pedestrian hit by a car was inherently at fault for their own injuries, because they were in a space that "belonged" only to cars. Through concerted lobbying efforts, "jaywalking" was criminalised, first at the local level through city ordinances, and then more broadly through state laws. Thus it came to pass that in America it is illegal to perform an action that every other country considers a perfectly normal, everyday occurrence. So… probably not a crime in the Ferngill Republic.

know this is an old video, but anyway thought i might add a crime. In norway it is illegal to light a fire without a permit between the 15th of april and the 15th of september due to forest fires and such, probs is illegal other places in the world as well, so using the cookout kit would be illegal in the summer. might not be valid in the rest of the world though
