yep, C128 Geos was great. With a C-128D and a 1581 DD (ie 3.5" MSDOS compatible format) it kept me in the C64 architecture way into the IBM Compatible era; until mid 90s. What finally caused me to jump were better printers and faster modems that the C128/Geos combination didn't support.

Thanks so much for checking that out with Geos. Much appreciated! I went as got a db9 male connector, and built a composite cable today, but while I get a picture ok, it has a lot of interference. Anyway, I might try your method, and see if this helps. Again it might be enough, as monitors in OZ, are very expensive as you need to double the price for delivery. Thanks mate!

I had a noisy picture on one of my TVs but not the other. I wonder if some TV's are overdriven and a resistor on the line would knock it down a bit? Could try a potentiometer in line and see if it helps any.

@@retrotechinsanity i worked out the biggest issue, i didn't have the ground wired! however, i've invested in a cable that can switch between modes (RGBI and normal) so will see how it goes when i get it. Has 16 colours apparently on the RGBI mode. I've also invested in a Lumafix 128 for the normal side. Highly recommended if anyone was thinking about it!

The garbage along the right is because the copy of GEOS you're running there expects a different version of the VDC than what you're running (8563 in the flat C128 versus 8568 in the C128-DCR). This isn't unique to GEOS, it happens in some other programs also (I-paint for instance). If memory serves, the horizontal offset register is just set wrong and is just displaying VDC bus noise. That or the horizontal scroll.

I'm sure everyone would like to see more of GEOS128 on your commodore 128. Maybe start up some applications / installed software for it so we can see how the OS's applications work, their performane etc... There aren't many videos showing GEOS128 on youtube... maybe run a paint program, a WYSIWYG word processor or a spreadsheet program or something...

Hadn't heard of it until you mentioned it, I'm relatively new to the 128 scene. I'll try it out.
