Excellent summary of the lesson you gave me Brian. Certainly these tips have worked for me. The only swing thought I add is "hit the (imaginary)ball under the (real) ball. This ensures I hit it fat, gives me confidence to accelerate through the shot knowing I am unlikely to blade it across the back of the green

My club 'pro teaches the opposite and advised me to open my stance and club face. He charged me £30 for the lesson and I never felt confident using this method. Thanks for your help Fitzy. The best bunker tip I can gve anyone is to stay out of them !

Excellent job Brian in explaining common faults and fixes on bunker shots! Of all of these, the most recurrent error that I make is "lack of momentum!" Rather than going for the middle of the green, I tend to go flag hunting (especially on short flags). This video should serve as a reminder to me to "get the sand out of the bunker!" Well Done Brian!!

Thanks John. I’m glad it has acted as a reminder to keep up the accelerated and not flag hunt. Keeping the ego in the bag is important but it’s tough.

Is it worth having 2 SW with different bounce, ie 56deg /12 And 60/8. To cover different sand types or will one SW with good technique be sufficient.?
@fitzygolfpro6 ай бұрын
Your 56 should be a different bounce to the 60 and you are right it will give you options.

@geoffcohen613 the average is 2 degrees flatter than your irons Geoff. Assuming they have been correctly fitted

So much conflicting advice on the internet, many say forward ball position, open stance etc. In my case it doesn't really matter either way because nothing works for me! 😂

I wished we weren’t separated by a lot of land and ocean Tony. I would get you sorted. Seve one of the best bunker players ever had a square stance and club face. That was good enough for me.
@tonymiddlehurst84386 ай бұрын
@@fitzygolfpro I believe you would sort me out Brian. I never used to have a problem until I moved to a club with very little sand in the bunkers. That place killed me off. I'm now at a James Braid 'inland links' in Wales with no bunkers at all so things could be worse!

@tonymiddlehurst8438 well arranged Tony. A course with no bunkers. I’ve never seen that.

@@fitzygolfpro Quite a few of them over here in the UK Brian, mostly 'true' seaside links with natural sand dunes but also inland links on hills where the wind is often strong enough to blow away any bunker sand. Of the four courses I could choose from around here two are bunkerless.
