In the late 90s/early 00s, we would split the hems on our jeans so they'd flow a little better with chunky and platform shoes. At 50 I'm less inclined to cut up my clothes, though!

Great video! It's was helpful. May I offer a suggestion? Is there a way you can do a close up on the shoes? I'm 57 yrsold and it can be hard for me to see what you're talking about re the shaft placement, boot socks etc. If it's to much of a pain, I understand. Thank Jamie! Your friend Kristine

I tried to give a close up of the socks and they were still hard to see, lol. I will definitely try to add some close ups in future videos. Thanks for the suggestion and I know I need to do it but it is more work and I am already having short on time but I will do my best!

I live in Hawaii, so knee-high boots are not really an option. But, it's nice to see how to style the ankle boots, which is the more popular style here.

Great video, Jamie. Recently, I wore a pair of cream colored flared jeans with my ivory lug sole Chelsea boots. The pants are slim throughout the leg, with a slight flare at the bottom. They are high-waisted and I wore a taupe, cashmere v-neck cropped sweater on top. I'm only 5 ft 1, 114 lb and petite but my legs are long. Do you think the flared pants look good with the lug sole Chelsea boots? Also, what about a slightly cropped flare jean with a lug sole boot?

I wear wide leg trousers and yes, with chunkier soles there is a heaviness around the bottom. What to do, when you cannot wear pointy shoes (like me, after foot operations)? Any other recommendation? - Your hair looks so good!!

I love this topic!! I have a couple of chunky books (lowerish shaft - motorcycle style boot, and lace up lug sole boots) that I can't seem to get fully correct and yeah sometimes they just look weird and off....so helpful. Do skirts need do be the flowy chiffon like material or can they be a heavier knit material. Will the knit material be too heavy? Also if the shaft of my jeans are kind almost just as big as the shaft of the boot do they go in the boot or scrunched on top of the boot? They took wide to cuff......or do I go with another type of foot wear all together?

I think a heavier knit would work well. I also think if your leg opening is sitting on top of the boot shaft you should try cuffing it a little above the shaft or just go with a slimmer shaft all together. Just my opinion though.

I went and bought me a slim fit classic straight leg jeans and I wore them with my Chelsea boots. I cannot stand my jeans to be right at the top of the Chelsea boot. Someone actually gets over the shaft so that’s the way I like it maybe it’s my age I don’t know lol.

I don't think it is your age. I think that is the best way to wear them! It looks sloppy when it sits on top of the boot and it's really annoying, lol!
