« Mieux vaut apprendre de ses propres erreurs que de celle des autres. » Sometimes, I think we need to make those mistakes in order to avoid repeating them. A good advice : mark the ISO on the roll if you push up once you’ve finished ! It could be a good reminder when you drop at the lab !

Thank you for making such great videos! I am anxiously awaiting the return of my first rolls of film from my Minolta x700. Your info has helped tremendously as I take on a new hobby!

This is brilliant… I think all of these have to happen to everyone at least once 🤣 Great video Klara ❤

Biggest factor: old age, not THINKING, also if you have multiple camera bags I find I must physically go through checking every bit of gear I will need to make sure it's there - take nothing for granted (I have a sign to this effect now). I recently drove for an hour to continue a project to find I had the wrong camera body in my pack - what a disaster!

my gosh, even with my minimalist gear of a single camera and two lenses I mess up in so many ways... once I add multiple camera bags to the mix I may never manage to take a single photo again 😂😂 I am definitely guilty of the "not thinking" part.

Great video, reminds me of all my mistakes! I’m a fellow Minolta X-700 user and one of the advantages of the camera is the little button that locks the auto settings on the shutter speed dial and the red window that shows that there’s a film in the camera. One of the things that really frustrates me though is having the wrong speed film in the camera. You put one in because it suits the conditions, use half of it and when you next use the camera, it’s the wrong speed. Do you have that problem? I know you can just use 400 as a general purpose film speed but if it’s then super sunny, I can’t open the lens up to get shallow depth of field.

Haha, you would think the lock button would have saved me, that's why I got so comfortable and didn't check the settings. no clue at what point I pressed it, cause like you say the x700 makes it pretty had to unknowingly leave the A mode. And yes I absolutely relate to the film speed issue. there are ways to change your film half way and then finish it at a lated date, but I am still too scared to try that, but I'm planning to give it a go at some point and I'll make a video bout it when I do to see how it works out. but yeah, I sometimes find myself rushing to finish a film roll just cause I want to use a different iso film for a different situation, and it's a shame to have to do that. this is where having multiple cameras would come in handy haha!

oh nooo... hopefully some of it is salvageable. my experience is that if it's at the end the first half of the roll should be unaffected. 🤞
