Hello Ludi, How are you? I've got a few questions about the recode that I haven't found the answer to in the comments if you're willing to answer! 1. Is there a plan for the lion model to get new animations in the recode? For example, in one of your older clips, the lion had different running and cantering animations and would pant when nearly out of stamina. Is this still planned? 2. Will cheetahs be able to climb trees in the recode? 3. Will lions be able to latch to most bigger animals? Like Zebra, and gnu? 4. If So Will they be able to latch onto their flank/neck area to take them down or will there be an animation for that? 5. This isn't a recode question but I still wanted to ask. In the near future, maybe after the recode or later on after the release of newer models, will you consider remaking your community discord? 6. Also not a recode question (I dont think) But is the Honey Badger still planned as a future playable? Lastly I'd like to appreciate your work, as I know that two people working on such a big project definitely isn't easy. The digging update is great. But I played today and I’m starting to realize the warthog players aren’t building for shelter. Though some are, but they are usually ruining the map. Near the big hill, the lake is always torn up and you can only run for 5 seconds without falling into a hole you CANT get out of. So anyways, It’s a great update but, maybe it could have some fixes

I think it would be really cool if you added the peregrine falcon to your game. (I don't speak English, I'm using a translator). If you don't know, the peregrine falcon occurs virtually all over the world, including Africa and is the fastest animal in the world, reaching 389 km/h or 241 mph.

Ex: Ear pinning, baboon lip curling, fear emotes, or will it just be sounds? 2. Will sounds be updated? Like the lion’s growl? You’ve said you’d add more sounds but I wonder if updates will be added to some. 3. Will a grouping system be added in the recode? 4. (Optional) You said things such as pouncing mechanics will be updated unless I’m wrong? What do you mean by that? Like do you mean you’d have to do more besides right clicking? Is there a series of animations you’d have to try and trigger? Like how will that mini game work? 5. Will there be any form of lateral movement in the recode? Maybe like a trigger for it or will the basic movement mechanics remain largely the same? 6. Will you replace the current grass? I’m not saying it rudely or asking for it in the recode, I’m just asking for in general for the new map. 7. Will climbing animals be able to sleep in trees in the recode? 8. Will there be any changes to the map in the recode, minor or major? 9. Will the latching mechanic stay or will it be altered slightly like the pouncing? 10. Will the courtship animations showcased from the topi be added into the recode, if so will there be something similar for all animals who do courtship? Or is it kind of useless since there is no calves/foals in the game yet? 11. Will jousting be implemented in the recode?

A little note: The rescript will just be a singular update that will bring in a few more animals and updates/additions to existing features. Not everything planned for the game will be in this update. That'll all come later in consecutive updates. 1. Animals will just have their basic calls and most notable emotes. Additions/changes to emotes will come in later updates. 2. Sounds will not be updated, just added on to. I will take the lion growl as an example. The current growl is meant to be one of the few types of growls you would be able to do. More types of growls will be added with varying levels of intensity. 3. Only a very basic grouping system will be added to this update. It will still be invite based, and only your species can be in a group with you if said species is social. The player to create the group is the "leader." If they leave, whoever was invited next would be the new "leader." This will be expanded upon in later updates. 4. Yes, the way pouncing works right now was always a temporary thing. Pouncing and killing your prey will just be more difficult and more dynamic. (Ex: You will have to manually go for different parts of the prey's body, pouncing anim will be based on the speed of both animals as well as the location you pounce from, etc) The minigame is not planned to stay for pouncing. You will have to use certain keys to stay on depending on the prey's movement. (This pounce system may or may not be in the initial update, and may come in a later update) 5. Movement mechanics will be the same. The only time you would be able to use lateral movement is when dodging or when in "fight mode." (Fight mode will not be in this update, but in a later update) 6. The recode update will not have the new map, and the grass will be the same. The new map will come in a later update most likely. 7. Yes. You will be able to do many things in trees, and move freely through them. 8. No, it will be the same map you have now. If there are going to be any changes, they would be minor at best. 9. The latching mechanic will stay, but will be adjusted to be more like pouncing. 10. Those animations will most likely be used in a later update. 11. There may or may not be jousting in the recode, and may come in a later update. Herbivores will be able to attack each other though.

The oxpecker will be a playable animal. The savanna hare and the fish currently in game will be the only npc animals at launch. The oxpecker will be able to cling onto large ungulates and eat ticks off of them at launch.

1. No, the cheetah won't be getting a new walk. 2. It won't be the same as the lion. Cheetahs will get their own eventually. 3. No animal can't prevent it but they can fight back e.g. Currently when the lion pounces on a hyena, the hyena can bite back to defend itself. It’ll be the same for smaller animals.

Yes, I have already updated the climbing to be more dynamic. You can go anywhere you want in the tree. You will also be able to hunt, rest, and eat in trees as well. All cats, including lions and cheetahs, are already planned to be able to climb trees. Of course, they will have varying degrees of climbing ability. The way climbing works right now was always meant to be a temporary thing.

1. Will you wait to update the game after the recode when everyone is 100% done in testing in one huge bulk (the new WS), or will you update a certain thing when it’s 100% done? Ex: One update is of a new animal and all of their animations, or if your doing the first option you will wait until you complete the entire game before updating again 2. In the upcoming recode, will leopards be able to pounce from trees? 3. In the recode, will all animals have a sit, lay, sleep animation like the lion or just a simple lay like you did with the hyena and buffalo? 4. Will grabbing prey and/or chunks be a thing in the recode or later? 5. Will the upcoming old animals you are bringing back in the recode (baboon, croc, etc.) have a retexture, or will they look the exact same as they used to? 6. Will additional sounds and animations be added? Eg. Baboons climbing, all animals receiving new sounds. 7. About how finished are you with the core coding? 1. The recode will be multiple updates one after the other. The initial update will give the current animals most of their missing features. 2. Yes. 3.It depends on the animal. 4. It will be a thing in the recode. 5. They will look exactly the same until they get their remodel. 6. Yes, additional sounds and animations will be added as part of filling in the missing features. 7. I don't know a specific percentage, but I feel that it is about half-way done. Could be more, could be less.

The recode is just a singular update actually, and it is entirely coding related. There is some misconception behind what it's actually meant to be since I have not thoroughly explained it.

1. Most likely not 2. It's actually a latency issue, not a hitbox issue. It may or may not be resolved in the update.

I am not sure if there is a name for it, but I just subdivide a cube, and move around the vertices until I get the shape of the animal. I do not sculpt.
