Hi Liza, thank you for the video. I'm a software engineer with 8 years of experience and I'm planning to immigrate to Switzerland soon. I've heard written recommendations from past employers are useful to show during an interview, can you comment on that? Also, I guess referrals are a plus for big companies and that's not different in Switzerland? Finally I'm worried about the salary expectations that you talked about. I have no idea how much I would need to live comfortably in Switzerland. Is there a place I can lookup what is the average salary for a senior software engineer (primarily with Java)?

Hi, you could check one of my previous videos regarding cost of living, that could give you an idea. Referrals are useful first of all to get the first interview and to go through the cv check. Regarding recommendations, based on my experience in most companies they look at them only when they are ready to make an offer.
