I'm trying to understand the edging through the wake part. The main difference I see from 1:26 and 1:33 is that you stood tall to receive the force of the wake pushing you up. Rather than absorbing it. If you kept the edge at 1:31 wouldn't you fall over as you go over the wake? At 1:33 it looks about the same flatness as 1:24. Do you just hold a slight edge up the wake?

Well said. Wondered the exact same thing

thanks for the video! It does look just before you hit the wake though that you’re going more flat and letting the edge go. I realize that’s maybe at the very last minute, but it still seems part of the way to jump the wake. i’m used to slalom skiing so when you said to hold the edge all the way through I’m thinking you’re fully on edge as you cut through the top of the week but that doesn’t look like that’s the case.

what does edging all the way through the wake mean?

Holding your toe or heel edge all the way through the lip of the wake

You have to keep pressure on your edge. Don't keep the board flat

If you cut out too far, you'll flatten out at the wake and perform a lot of mistakes. It's hard to resist, so, only cut out about half of what you think you should. Then, when you cut/edge back into the wake, you can stay on that edge all the way through the wake and that is where all your pop and power comes from. Eventually, you can clear the wake without cutting out far at all.
