55:00 EV critics usually assume everyone drives 300 miles in one go regularly. Just because they saw a 7 hour London to Glasgow video somewhere.

I've had a charger brick my MG ZS EV , a battery disconnect didn't fix it, I had to get AA to reset the fault codes to get the vehicle to work. They followed me to to a nearby charger where it was fine! Just a rogue charger.

I had this problem with my 12 volt battery with my mg5 and couldn’t find out what happened or the AA couldn’t ether after a boost and half an hour it reset next day I was worried about it as it affected the brakes so I went to main dealership that I bought it and they did nothing to reasonably me but said they could not book it in for 2 weeks very reassurance

I wonder when there will full blown petrol station style charging stations with up to 8 to 12 charging stations with cafe and restaurant waiting areas. Was meant to be a thing. I think many companies provide lip service. A lot of old petrol stations abandoned. Ideal. If there are should be more of them nationwide especially at service stations. It should have its own area.

When reading the MG4 manual it stated that the 12v is monitored and the car will wake up and charge the 12v when it is low. (obviously you lose a bit of range). Is this just for newer models?

Regarding range, people need to bear in mind that an ICE car is only 25 to 30% efficient so there is plenty of leeway in turning on heating, driving harder and faster etc. with less noticeable effects, whereas an EV, at approaching 100% efficiency, every extra amp counts, either adding to or detracting from range!

At least this forum allows people to share their experiences and comments unlike the associated over zealous forum which banned me for ‘trolling’ even though all I was doing was sharing my experiences.

My MG4 LR Trophy Mk1 loses its 12v power within 7-10 days if parked and not used, even if the HV battery.is well over the 50-60% limit which should enable it to top up the 12v battery. Probably just a software fault which MG will fix in due course. But the point is that when the 12v battery is flat one cannot unlock the car in the usual way to gain access to the bonnet release and therefore to the 12 v battery. Therefore, it's worth rehearsing the use of the emergency key which requires a strong grip and a clockwise turn to unlock. I had to get the AA out to help me😡.

Too many EV's with similar 12v battery issues. Ionic 5 springs to mind

It's about time that some EV charger companies were outed as being totally unreliable and not interested in getting their equipment fixed in any great rush. These companies don't deserve to be part of the charging infastructure. If they can't do the job they she get out of the system and let a company in that can do it. A not working charger is no use whatsoever !!

I have found that BP chargers do not work on the MG4 LR, this is annoying as I put £20 on the app and now cannot use it, damn you BP
