Can't believe it was 10 years ago when I first found your channel and I had downloaded hundreds of your videos with my 2G internet, I used to read all the articles posted on your website, from how to wrap hands to how to throw punches I've learned almost everything from you and you are still here active on your channel. It feels amazing to see you again after so many years and your videos give me nostalgia. Love from India🇮🇳.

Great video Johnny been watching you for years now. What is your opinion on shoulder rolling while slipping at the same time to help generate power for hooks and uppercut counters?
@expertboxing2 жыл бұрын
Rolling and slipping at the same time is not possible from a technical point of view. Because theoretically-speaking, slipping means you go OUTSIDE the punch and rolling means you go INSIDE the punch. Obviously, you can't be both simultaneously inside AND outside a punch. Or I assume you mean smoothly transitioning between them? But in any case....pretty much all defensive moves are designed to help you set up counters. Cuz if you didn't want to counter, there's almost no point in staying close and you should just backstep away.

Hi! I started boxing at club since 6 month but I don't have the time anymore to go to it I go to the gym aside and I work on heavy bag and also doing shadowboxing at home to work on techniques, footwork etc I done sparring since one year (approximatively) since I was the last year in a boxing association (doing 1 time a week) Do you think (for someone who just want to know basic of fighting and also to exercise in addition of powerlifting) it's still efficient to do shadowing work and heavy bag workout and no sparring? (even if sparring still interesting but don't have time anymore to do so and I did it for more than a year each week)

I was reading something about making your opponent overcommit to an attack then catch him in a Bruce Lee book I remember seeing Pacquiao do it any idea where I can learn more about it or u can explain it briefly.
@clarity2115 Жыл бұрын
Pacquiao uses his offense and relies on his opponents to overcommit to counter. Which is why he can seem a bit lackluster against boxer-boxers and excels against brawlers.

Hey Coach! I really appreciate the work that you put in your videos but i have one thing to ask you.. Is it normal for my abdominal area to hurt so bad if i get punched there? Like..when i younger, around the ages of 13, 14 i couldn't feel a thing..but now, i just can't stand a punch there..
@expertboxing2 жыл бұрын
It's supposed to hurt when you get hit. Try doing more core work and also protecting yourself there better.

Yo who do you think is going to win benavidez vs plant ?
@expertboxing2 жыл бұрын
I'd have to lean towards Benavidez. Plant is slicker and more skillful but man...size really matters. Seeing Bivol dispatch Zurdo so easily makes you think Plant could do the same but I kinda doubt it. Plant is more like a runner, and that won't help him against Benavidez. Benavidez is also a better boxer and brawler IMO than Zurdo, whereas Plant isn't as good as Bivol.

I think the most effective way to slip is pivoting the feet so punching while pivoting automatically takes your head off center line
@expertboxing2 жыл бұрын
Yes, that can be effective as long as you use it well. Otherwise, it's very exhausting if your opponent doesn't bite on it.
@KiraTheUnleashed2 жыл бұрын
Hi expertboxing. I watched one of your video on pull counter but I have a question. It's a beautiful technique but I'm scared to try it out as I feel it can be easily countered by a quick jab-cross by the opponent. Marcos Maidana was able to counter floyd's pull-counter, with a quick jab-cross. Here's the video for the reference: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fIOzYYyQrN-iZsk
@expertboxing2 жыл бұрын
You gotta be sensitive to when it's applicable. It works best on opponents with long, over-commited, or lazy jabs. It doesn't work as well if they're tentative and you feel a loaded right hand. You gotta feel out the situation instead of just blindly trying things.
