I have one of those exact power strips, my dad or bro bought from a car boot sale about 25 years back. The little neon lamp still flickers away to this day! I kept it when we moved house because it was old and quirky, especially the awesome, heavy duty plug it came with and the thick cable. It's very hard to put plugs in and out because the ground socket has these weird pincers that I assume is the original design for the shutter engager. It doesn't get a lot of use, but like my Yugoslavia-made Matsui TV I plug into it, it's sticking around for a few more years!

I am about to start some training to be able to PAT test donated items at a charity shop, I have watched a few of your videos today and have leaned a lot of things that should help me in the future. 👍

What amazes me is someone has been using these extension cables. Some people have no idea.

Well they still work one assumes. Most people don't seem to know the current PAT regulation. Is that what amazes you?

Great video. I am after some advice, I PAT test at a local charity shop, I won't bore you with my findings, but we get a lot of items in with the "shaver" style plugs and although these are class 2 I won't pass them as to me they are a non-compliant plug. we often have them in with various adaptors some are the European Convertor Plug Converts 2 pin CEE7 Euro plug to UK mains plug. others are the kiss of death unfused shaver adaptor. any comments are appreciated.

Thanks for the comment. So an important thing to remember that shaver adaptors are very different to a European converter. Converter adaptors must be screw shut with a cable grip. Shaver adapters should be be used for shavers or toothbrush chargers only
