The Common Projects Achilles Low took the sneaker world by storm in 2004. 20 years later it is still the benchmark every other all white sneaker aspires to. There are three reasons why I will always keep the Common Projects Achilles Low in my sneaker arsenal. Aesthetics, durability and versatility. It’s that simple, there are few other shoes that I’ve ever worn that last long enough for me to extract every penny out of the initial investment. Nothing in my wardrobe is as versatile to wear in such a high range of styles, social settings and weather conditions. It is the only shoe I have ever worn to a wedding but also ran five miles in. The Common Projects Achilles Low is the only shoe that I am seriously comfortable with it being my only shoe, if I had to have only one shoe for the rest of my life. It is truly that good!

Common projects are my favorite shoe since 2017. I buy one pair a year white and light gray are my favorite. Most recently, i bought the off white.😊

Nice! I might do the same once all my other shoes fail and I’m finally down to my goal of 5 shoes!

I must agree that the profile of the commons and how sleek the silhouette is just unparalleled ! I bought mine for around 150 - 160$ (beige pair) 4-5 years ago and am super happy w. them!

That is awesome, I am glad you are getting all the value out of them!

Hows your new pair holding up? I bought a new pair recently and they arent the same quality as the ones I bought in 2013. The leather on the new ones is just not as good imo

just bought my on Black Friday, for me the nicest brands right now are officine creative, lanvin, common projects, cqp zingo, represent and also moncler and ami Paris sometimes provides!

My just arrived today! I normally use 42 us, 9.5 us vans skate shoes; quick question should I try 41 too? Comparing Achilles 42 us to my old shoes ''Mango's 42 us size Low Profile Sneakers'' I notices CP's are a bit longer, cuz they are like slinky which look so badass!! any suggestion? thank you!
@KRTLyfeАй бұрын
Idk probably also have to consider the width of your feet. Me personally I wear a 8.5 us in Nike and a 41 in CPs and pretty much every European shoe.

5:45 those pants work really well with the shoes. What are they?
@KRTLyfeАй бұрын
They are from Theory, I think they call them relaxed fit sweat pants or something.

I've always thought there to be a little bit of a hive-mind going on when looking at the hype behind this shoe/silhouette. I think this video gives some good insight into the durability and aging that I haven't seen talked about as much, but with so many plain white shoes in similar silhouettes its hard to justify a price tag of 440 IMO. Now, lightly used 150-200 -- that's a great deal any way you slice it.

I can’t say I’ve tried every option but I’ve tried a handful and from my experience they either fall apart prematurely or age so poorly you wouldn’t want to wear them of course all this is subjective. I wear mine on an average of 160 days per year and I considered retired them a few years back but they have aged so nicely and are so comfortable, I continue to wear them.

Hey man, what about sizing, are 41 in all of your shoes?
@KRTLyfeАй бұрын
Yes, I wear 41 in all of my European shoes. American shoes like Nike I wear 8.5 US which is a 42 in Nike go figure.

The Koio are very good too and cost less. If you want the best, it's the Crown Northampton.

Yeah I’ve looked at both of them and they just don’t look right to me.
@wustachemax2 ай бұрын
Well one of the reasons certainly isn't comfort, because these shits are uncomfortable as f, even after breaking them in (it's been a full year of constant use - don't know how much longer i gotta break them in for) my pair are just collecting dust in my closet now.

Yeah I had a similar situation with the Red Wing Iron ranger. Wanted to love it so bad i tried them twice! Copper and suede variants need up selling them both at a loss. The CPs on the other hand have been comfortable for me out the box. Just goes to show everything isn’t going to work for everybody.

@@KRTLyfe I have both Common Projects and Iron Rangers and this is all I wear now. When it’s nice out it’s CP, for cold days it’s IR. I love IR and there was basically no break in period for me, they fit perfectly and much more comfortable and refined than my Timberlands. CP I only have for about 5 months but they were great so far. Not as comfortable as New Balances of course, but for what they are, they are amazing. I envy you for getting the new, fresh ones, they look amazing when new. I guess I need to at least replace the laces to get back that ‘new’ shoe feeling :)
@KRTLyfeАй бұрын
@@nemomilo333 They should’ve come with a spare pair of laces, my new ones and my old used ones did.

I have a wide foot and a heavy guy and think they’re some of the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever worn. Like KRT, I also wore them in Dubai in the desert and hot city streets and these felt great. Had them for years until I had to retire and just got a new pair yesterday. They felt just as comfortable as before, even without breakin
@KRTLyfe22 күн бұрын
@henry.has.been.humbled awesome glad you enjoyed your first pair and hopefully you get the same result from your new ones! This is truly the most versatile shoe of all time IMHO. It can do it all, might not be as good as a purpose built shoe but if I only had one shoe with out a second thought it would be the CP Achilles!
