How great of you to quickly, efficiently, and in an entertaining way share your knowledge with the rest of the world (and not just simple "'click this link," but going the extraish step to explain the science/reasoning behind the link). You've turned a day of frustration into a day of happiness. Thanks oodles.

This was SO simple it amazed me! I was looking for at least 5 years for a decent explanation! Now I have it. Teachers out there note: you should show this video to your classes before making it part of a classroom assignment! Make it interesting and easy and you will increase a child's attention span and their love of learning, something sadly lacking in this era of social promotion. Watching this was fun!
@StrangeIndeed4 жыл бұрын
I guess it's worth mentioning that although the picture at 1:16 gives a good understanding of how RSS, it's now how it actually works behind the scenes. RSS checks from time to time if some new content is available - it's like the old, old methods, but it's automated. So the arrows point the opposite way than shown, but it is abstracted away from you

It's 2024 and I think this is one of the most important videos on the internet. The average internet user has no control over their networks and doesn't even engage with the web (and all it's glory!). Meta, X, and TikTok rendered RSS an antiquated technology, but we have to learn why RSS (or it's philosophy) is imperative if we don't want some kind of Orwellian digital dystopia.
@nicohornswag10 ай бұрын
Precisely. I've deleted my social apps and I'm wanting to go back to the old ways. I gotta say, it's a lot cooler and nicer than I thought. I'm even getting more engagement with real people now! I still have to set up RSS for my own blog but I'll be doing it as soon as possible.
