Communicating Japan's Contribution in an Uncertain World

Living with COVID, demographic challenges, climate change in increasing natural disasters, demographic issues, and a troubling geopolitical environment. In this unprecedented fluid environment, Japan should have much to offer in terms of resilience and innovation. But, in this complex world, the facts no longer speak for themselves. Does Japan need to make a better effort at communicating its role and contribution? How does it do this? What needs to change, if anything? This panel examines the way Japan presents itself to the world and discusses and proposes changes and new approaches.

興味深いpanel discussionなので、I'd like to listen to it repeatedly more carefully. This G1 panel discussion環境で、衆議院議員 河野さん一人で対峙するのは気の毒と思いました..(^^;) 緒方貞子さん, that 河野さん mentioned, has intelligence with well education widely and is a very universal person unlikely from other ordinary Japanese citizens.. Japanese are not unknown species but perhaps because cultural background and historical movement are different from other countries including western empires or Asian empires, some parts of way of thinking are fundamentally different, I think, which maybe reflect on the stereotypes of Japanese characteristics. It might tend to make western people think that Japanese are mysterious and hard to understand, and are not enthusiastic in communicating to the world. Continued deep discussion on this topic would be highly welcomed for Japanese ourselves as well. ty🍀
