Whenever I hear the piano start tinkling while a preacher is speaking, a flag goes up. I don't know how this started, but, personally, I find it distracting and somewhat manipulative. You might even call it schmaltz. It's a performance as much as a message, and I don't know why the Word itself isn't enough for people - why do we need to have the Gospel packaged into performance art?
