In 'The Radical Act of Community', Patrick Grant, founder of Community Clothing, introduces the fashion and clothing brand which is committed to building and maintaining jobs in Blackburn - ‘the beating heart of the UK textile industry’ - a UK town known for its great heritage in clothing manufacture and cotton.
Valuing the local community and sustainability, Community Clothing wants to encourage more of us to keep and use good quality clothing items for longer, and to change the fashion business model so that 60% of the bought cost goes to the clothing and the people that make them, rather than other business costs.
Community Clothing will appear in the next Harewood Biennial - Radical Acts: Why Craft Matters - opening on 26 March 2022 at Harewood House, Leeds.
The Harewood Biennial is generously supported by Arts Council England
