Community Stories

This project was funded through Arizona State University Design and Arts Corp Grant.
Community Stories is a collaborative project for the youth of San Tan Valley that will increase the understanding of the history of their town, increases their creative and collaborative skills, and build a greater sense of community for the citizens of San Tan Valley. The youth will learn stories of local history and create a staged performance for the community. A particular focus is on telling stories of indigenous and historically marginalized peoples of the area. This is particularly important for the people who have recently moved to San Tan Valley to hear and understand the stories so that they can have a strong appreciation for their neighbors.
