I enjoy the channel. I also add a 1 gallon gas can that fits perfectly in the back corner of my saddle bag. I have helped out a couple riders in the middle of nowhere. Look forward to the next video.

Thank you. I carry a gas can on my PA, but I should have one on the Street Glide too. You never know.

Yup, a lot of my rides are solo too, and I love it. I’ve done several long distance, solo rides, and they’re usually some of the best rides I do!!

I rarely ride solo and have never done a solo long distance trip. Some good tips! Thorough planning makes for a better trip. We've done both and the trips where I've taken my time to come up with a good plan, we seem to enjoy it a lot more. Like you mentioned, pinning certain places allows you more time during your trip instead of searching for places to stay, eat, gas or whatever.

I so some planning, but not 100%. The hotel thing seems to work for me but I’ve also reserved ones in the past. I got burned once when you have to cancel before 24 hours and I ending up eating the cost due to unforeseen circumstances.

@Broncoride oh, when I said thorough planning, I was talking about you pinning different places to stay or eat (coffee), not about making the actual reservations. Sorry, I wasn't very clear. Yeah, I agree with you about waiting to make reservations. Sometimes we will, but it's usually for the first night and that's only the day before, once we know the weather is going to cooperate. We've been burned once too. It was dark and raining so hard I could see the road so for safety reasons we found another hotel.

Some good points there, Colin. Want time to yourself? Ride across the US both ways, solo. Nothing like it. Most of my rides are solo, have been for years since the guys I used to ride with have moved away (or in a few cases, died) and my schedule became quite full otherwise. Hoped to ride with some folks last October on my NC trip, but Stoney and I got crossed up a bit and he was committed to helping a family member on Saturday, so we just met for coffee Sunday morning before I rode to Maggie Valley. Had a nice dinner meet-up with Misty (Hawk Girl) and Jay, she wasn't back to riding due to recovering from an emergency surgery so I ended up riding solo Saturday when I'd hoped to have some company. Oh well, had fun anyway. Wish I'd remembered to bring my PA state map on my PA trip in July (dumb mistake), had my route planned ahead of time, not too different from normal, but on the way back I was on the back roads and ran into several closures I hadn't expected (I suspect due to local flooding, never did find out why) and wasn't sure which way to go at one point until I saw one road, which I'd never been on, went to a town I knew, and it eventually intersected a route I planned to take to start with. Would have been much faster to have stayed on 15 all the way, but the whole point of getting on the state roads had been to avoid the commercial zones and traffic of Selinsgrove and Camp Hill areas. So instead of getting home around 8pm, it was 11:30.

You always seem to have an adventure when on the bike, but I always learn the best roads from you. If ever in my area, please hit me up. Hope you’re doing well my friend.

Doing all right, having an issue with the Daytona (apparently starter motor's gone bad) so I took the Bonnie to PA (with a side trip to Montour Falls NY on the way back, if I'd had another couple hours I'd have included Watkins Glen, literally two miles further up the road). Got rained on too. Of course I'll hit you up whenever I head down that way next! Hoppe to make a trip in Oct., we'll see. May meet up with Stoney in WV too mid Oct. Stay safe!

Love solo rides. Being able to stop where and when you want. Taking whatever route you want. I use google maps, share my location. That way my family can find me within a minute or two of my location. Apple takes a little longer to update.

Solo is great. Just you and your machine. Stop when you want go where you want ahh the freedom. We use the find my phone iPhone setting. Wendy freaked when I was in the middle of Alaska lol. Butler maps are great. One thing with google maps is to also download the offline map to your phone, no cell service needed.

I don’t make reservations either, same thought process, something could happen… I usually plan on a stopping area, and when I get close, then figure out where I want to stay

I've heard the BRP is 400 + miles of 40-45 MPH speed limit. Any truth to that?
@Petesmotoadventure
@Petesmotoadventure Жыл бұрын
It is a little over 450 miles total. The speed limit varies but the top is 45. But you can and will go faster 😂

I’ve done several parts of it. 45 is a suggestion. 😂
