Still riding my 21 PAS, puts a smile on my face everytime I get on it! I did put a LiFePO4 battery in it, drastically cut down the starting issues where it triggers codes, but everything else is great! Great hearing from you again, ride safe!

Thanks Dan. I still have the stock battery. Almost did the lithium.

@@Broncoride I went to lithium after the stock battery was having difficulty cranking over the motor, the LiFePO4 has much more current capacity than the stocker.

I was just thinking the other day that it’s been a while since I saw a new post from you, good to see you out and about and bringing us along. I’m glad you still enjoy your PA, I don’t know that I’d ever go the ADV route…I do enjoy the riding I get to do, though. Ride safe, maybe we can meet up for lunch sometime.

I’m all about meeting up John. I’m still here, but cut back considerably due to work.

Colin-Good to hear from you!! Glad you’re enjoying your bike, I bet the option of taking it off-road is a plus. Hopefully the sign lady saved some of that money she’s been getting! I need to get into the sign business 🤔 I moved a couple years back, our town has an amusement park, it’s for little kids, set up year round. I don’t like the overnight set up carnivals either. It was good seeing you out riding, take care and I’ll try to stop by again.

I sold my 2018 Heritage last year and was in the market for an adventure bike. I looked at the Pan America because I've always been a Harley guy and I like the brand. The three dealers closest to me all had new 2022 models still on the floor, in addition to 2023's, and they didn't seem the least bit interested in selling one. I ended up purchasing a new Triumph Tiger 900 GT Pro (road oriented model) and I couldn't be happier. The Pan America was heavier than I wanted to deal with, even though I'll never ride off road. I was hoping HD would come out with a 950-975 version of the PA, but I don't see it happening. They are really missing a huge part of the market by not offering a middle weight ADV bike. Ride safe.

Have a 22, no major issues - fuel pump went out at 9k miles while I was 1k miles from home, had it replaced at the nearest dealer that had one in stock. Dont see myself getting rid of it, just adding other bikes to the stable. Its more comfortable for me than my RG was on long trips.

Absolutely agree with you on all points! I own a '22 PAS from new and now have 37,000miles on it, abt 80% on blacktop, and its been super reliable and hands down the best bike I've ever owned! The best ride and no doubt the most fun. And yes people ask me at nearly every stop abt this bike. HD has done this bike a disservice not getting the word out abt it to more people. Witnessing their recent actions I'm wondering if this has been intentional because HD doesn't want this bike sales eating into their touring bike sales....
@BroncorideАй бұрын
Irritating on HD as this bike is really solid
@johnmyers8588Ай бұрын
Finally traded mine in. Multiple issues that were fixed but one that never was resolved after almost two years of ownership ('22 model special). Fun bike but had to let her go......couldn't trust it.
@BroncorideАй бұрын
They should have done more recalls on the common issues. The fuel pump and radiator hose are two that should have been in my opinion. It’s a numbers game but the negativity from owners is what hurt them.
@nevillegreg1Ай бұрын
I agree, it's a great bike. I have a 2021 and had the usual initial issues (starter clutch gear, radiator hose, heat shield), all fixed under warranty. Once the starter clutch gear was replaced (early in the piece), the bike has started 1st time, every time ever since. And I still have the original stock battery. I also have taken it on long trips, like 2 and 3 and 4 and 8 consecutive days of rides in the last 3 years and it's been flawless. I will say this and I say it with conviction, Harley Davidson MC has killed the Pan America by the very poor way it handled the 1st ans 2nd year model issues and hence the bad comments and poor sales. Every 1st year model should have been recalled, irrespective, the starter clutch gear replaced, irrespective, and while the bike was in at the dealer, an electrical leak test conducted to ensure that the battery wasn't being excessively drained when the bike was switched off. Love the bike, don't love the motor company. I have purchased 3 years extended warranty because it way more cost effective given that I was expecting to receive a crap/rip-off trade-in value on the 2021, there are no real improvements in the 2024 model from a riders' perspective (no lane assist, no active/smart cruise control/ no additional suspension settings, no true navigation, no apple car play).
@BroncorideАй бұрын
100% agree. Going to be an uphill battle convincing people. I bought the warranty as well. I’ll give my dealer credit. They were all about making sure it was right.

This is a good bike…almost all I’ve spoken that own one would buy it again. Yes some initial problems occurred but they have been addressed. I’m a HD fan old dude but totally applaud HDs drive to new markets. Let’s face it my generations heavy motorcycle buying is coming to an end…the younger generations have not and probably would not consider buying bikes of the traditional HD builds-or Indians. Indian, BMW , Triumph and all the metric manufacturers see the need and are actively expanding models in search of new buyers/markets. HD can build classic Bikes , active bikes ,new bikes, and maybe even electric bikes all at the same time…in fact they need to if expected to be in business 30 year’s from now…Oh BTW I’ll be dead and buried in one of my Harley’s!!!

Loved the bike unfortunately it came down to reliability for me. But man was it a fun bike to have. You’re missing the quick shifter. That’s the cats meow. I’d go back to it in a newer model. I would like to see a dedicated abs button and the ability to kill the traction control without stopping in the future.
