Oh wow. I didn't realise you could make the external, non deforming gear the driven gear! That makes a big difference

this is so cool!

Why so many bearings? The ones off the major axis will never make contact with the strainwave generator...

Curious, why not use the heat-set inserts where you were putting in the roller bearings? Feels a bit easier than tapping all those holes.
@LucasLangner Жыл бұрын
Heatset inserts are just too big, there is very little space from the M3 thread to the outer wall. The next problem would be that the heatset inserts cannot be melted down exactly. 0.1mm off is already too much

Are you able to drive the driven side :)?

what type of printer did you use for the gears, they're so small
@LucasLangner Жыл бұрын
I use the Voron 2.4. This works on any printer, but you need a 0.2mm nozzle for the toothed parts.

Will this work for keen one mount

One of the smoothest operating 3d printed harmonic drives I've seen, how did you come to that bearing configuration?
@LucasLangner5 ай бұрын
Thanks for your feedback :) I wanted the two big ball bearings primarily to stiffen the circular spline. This makes the mechanism much more stable and rounder, which ultimately enables smooth movement even under load. The oval arranged ball bearings on the Wave Generator always keep the Flex Spline in shape what is extremely important, especially with such fine gearing on higher load.

@@LucasLangner what benefits are there to having a wave generator with 12 (as per your design) bearings as opposed to a simpler arm with 2 bearings? great work btw, I'm experimenting with harmonic drives too and was wondering how low I could go with an 0.2 nozzle, I'm impressed with how small you managed to get the gear teeth

that is gonna break so fast. do a first order analysis of tooth strength
