Great video. I plan on building one of these soon. They seem to be a good use of space. I come from an Arts background, so here is what I plan on doing. I'm going to buy a few sheets of either poster board or foam core. I will start with tracing the outer diameter on one of the sheets, then subtracting maybe a quarter inch. Cut the hole with an Xacto knife. Test the hole size and adjust accordingly. Once it is perfect, transfer to the board and cut.

Sweet build. The ending montage is awesome. Helps make the build feel more realistic

Hey man, nice work. I'm getting ready to build mine, here's how I measured my "bucket hole"...place bucket upside down, block-up a framing square to the level the bucket will sit, use another square or straight edge to touch off of the other side...a quickie vernier caliper.

So I had never heard of the automatic switch, and I am trying to figure out how it works. You just attach it to the PVC pipe leg of the cart with adhesive two-sided tape and also screw it to the leg, but then do you connect the auto switch to an extension cord and plug the power tool to the automatic switch? So when you turn on the power tool, it is suppose to automatically turn on the vac, correct? Right before you added the automatic switch, what was that item you added to the top of the cart? I could not understand what you said.

Correct. The power tool and shop vac both get plugged into the automatic switch. That was just a holder for the brush attachment to the shop vac hose.

The 2' coupling doesn't fit too snug on the Rigid casters. Did you make any adjustments to get a snugger fit? Thanks
@noelg97692 жыл бұрын
Mine fit just fine. But you could wrap a couple layers of duct tape on the inside or outside if needed.

I have a problem where I don’t have the rigid shop vac instead I have the craftsman cap 16 gallon. Pipes don’t fit in wheels
@noelg97692 жыл бұрын
You can try out different size PVC pipe and couplings to see if something fits. Just take a look in your local hardware store.

Is the cement and primer necessary?
@noelg97692 жыл бұрын
You could give it a shot without the cement and primer, just a friction fit. Might be alright. And if it turns out to be too wobbly, just cement it after.

I built the same setup and it is so top-heavy I can't pull it around the garage without it tipping over. I will need to build a wider base.
@noelg9769 Жыл бұрын
I just pull it from one of the pvc pipes each time I move it. But yeah man, whatever works for you.

Great video, I will use it to build my own for sure! Any chance you could add the Home Depot links to the PVC pipe and fittings?

Has anyone figured out a way to put the dust collector "inside" the shop vac? That would be the most space savings.
