the nice thing about buying Cattleya from SVO is that he groups them by size. So if someone wants something small, just order off the mini or compact list and you are good.

So true, but some I find get a little taller than what I'd like lol. I need to browse the mini catt section haha.

Hi Nicole. Great video, love your Zoe. She likes orchids too. Indeed smaller orchids work great for me. Take care. 🥰👏💐

Wonderful topic and video! Smaller = More! I have the Jungle Elf cross too but mine didn't seem to be fragrant even though it is beautiful. I am in love with Bc. Richard Miller x Myrmecophila brysiana so beautiful and so fragrant. I also have several SVO M. Sauno hybrids and I agree they seem to stay small. I really think you have a good approach to this topic. Instead of chasing after expensive clones look at the parents and enjoy the exciting surprise of blooming a new hybrid. Another dendrobium phal that is nicely compact and blooms alot is Den. Zechia Lynn. Hauserman's sells it very cheap and even though it is small it blooms in no time.🥀

You have some nice ones! Yeah, I feel a little bad when folks are searching for some of the ones I have and they can't find them, but I think very special ones can be found :) Very nice recommendation! I've gotten some nice ones from Hauserman!

💜💜💜Nicole! This is a much needed video as I have limited space. Thank you for the info on alternatives to exact orchids that you mentioned. I also really needed that. And, Zoe is an amazing purr factory! Love her attitude! 💜💜💜

💜💜💜 You're amazing! I'm sure I will find them. Just purchased a Den Phal 'butane new emerald'. Wish I could send a pic. It's in spike and I love it! Wish they had fragrance though!

Hey Nicole 👋🏾 I love to see your orchids! They are so well cared for. If I had to include some of my favorites, I would highly recommend Dendrobium ceraula, easy species and free flowers. Cattleya Tangerine Fire is less than 8” and blooms twice a year with a cluster of orange-yellow blooms. Bc Walter August smells delicious and stays smaller, super reliable . If someone wanted to try something “different”, Phragmipedium Mini Grande is a neat primary hybrid and stays about 10” with pot. Awesome share! I love when you do these types of videos. Have an awesome Sunday! 🪴🌺😁

Thank you, Nicole, for a great video. I will look for dendrobiums that you mentioned in the video. I love Richard Mueller hybrids that I got after watching your earlier videos. I also love cattleya Mahalo Jack. It is a very compact hybrid with big flowers. Walkeriana is one of the parents. It is a very easy bloomer.

Thank you 🙏🏼 Nicole. My orchids here in MA are doing well and I appreciate your advice. If you have so much success I am hopeful. My dendrobiums are growing flowers now. Is that unusual? Am I messing with their normal culture?? 😬🤨🤔🤔😊
@NicoleDeannaКүн бұрын
You got this! When growing indoors things are different because you have temperatures that don't line up with our outdoor conditions - so although it's winter, they feel more tropical conditions. It's not unusal to get flowers all times of the year. Some have seasons but nothing to worry about. Congrats on your blooms!

Hey hon, its so nice to have smaller orchids 😂 I have some beasts! 😂 That Dendrobium New Hope mini is struggling a bit for me. Maybe one day it will bloom. I had 2 peices. One died back to small section. Not sure its gonna make it. The other id bigger but its not rooting well. What do you have yours in?
@NicoleDeanna16 күн бұрын
I'm sorry to hear about your New Hope mini! I can get the keiki off mine and pot it and send with tetraspis as a back up if yours doesn't pull through. I have it in bark and moss and it's growing well! Hugs 🤗

I usually try to avoid the brand miracle grow in general but have you tried the orchid food spray by them? I was thinking about trying it since im just learning about feeding. Also would an orchod bloom with just waterinf or does it usually have to have extra?
@NicoleDeannaКүн бұрын
I have! I dont' think it hurts! I don't use it anymore, but I didn't have any issues with that spray :)
