It's a great solution. If you could either zoom in a tiny bit or move the lens slightly to the right you would get rid of the door frame and the switch. Would make a big difference 😊

I have a few questions. First question: Why is 120 cm not 90 cm or smaller? Second question: Why is there no grid? Third question: Why are there no RGB lights? The fourth and for me the most important question: Rode videomic ntg is rechargeable. Are you constantly trying to charge it or is it getting its energy from the camera? If you're struggling with charging, why didn't you choose a model that doesn't have charging problems? Fifth question: I use a mobile phone as a camera and in the past I tried rode wireless go 1 rode wireless go 2 and lavaliver microphone on them and lastly I switched to the rode nt usb + model. Do you think my sound quality will increase if I switch to a microphone such as ntg, podmic, rode nt1a 5th generation or shure sm7b? Or do you think this is necessary? Finally, fan noises in the room create bottom sound. Have you considered switching to a dynamic microphone for this reason? Or do you edit the audio?

Bigger the soft box the more soft and evenly spread the light is ,and can also increase the distance between the subject and the light source so that it won't come in the camera FOV

I appreciate this video! I've been hunting for ideas to optimize my workspace without sacrificing style and functionality, and this hit the nail on the head. How you balance an efficient use of space with a non-cluttered, sleek look is truly inspiring. Plus, your recommendations on quality equipment were exactly what I needed to upgrade my setup. It's clear you've put a lot of thought into every detail, and it shows. Thank you for sharing valuable insights and making the quest for the perfect workspace less daunting. Keep up the fantastic work!

Great setup - gives me hope having moved 'studio' from our largest to smallest spare bedroom whilst we sell the house. I also have a sit stand desk but wasn't sure I could get far enough from the camera with a 2nd desk - but it seems possible in your setup. For the autopole - worth looking at Calumet (studio pole) brand (also for super-clamps etc). I was told by a supplier it's a white label brand and Manfrotto are one of the manufacturers - they even have MF serial numbers. I just took a Calumet Studio Pole down today, it had been up in the floor to ceiling position for over 18 months holding up a sound curtain in one direction and a backdrop in the perpendicular direction. Great as it has almost no footprint so can stand behind a door. Just be careful with the tension pressure on a ceiling.

A couple of great ideas here. I have two more recommendations for you that really helped me in my (identically sized) studio: “wall mounted baby pin” and “neweer wall mount boom arm”. All these, along with the autopole, allow me to not have anything on the floor, apart from the table, which itself is on casters, for maximum flexibility :)

sorry I just came back from watching your a7iv rig video and my 2 cents are as followed: The corner studio set up looks way more professional and DYNAMIC than this new set up you got, it almost seems way way way to flat hens brings down your entire look and feel not to mentioned its seems like if you were recording your 1st video. again go with corner , plus the wood lines actually don't distract at all and they look awesome. all in all good info.

Loved the detail in this video, I think your space limitations actually act as a force multiplier, simple wins! Just one correction, the rode NTG actually produces better sound quality than the pod mic etc (as long as the room is quite with little echo).

Actually wondering how the NTG sound so good in these videos! It’s terrible with reverb from my experience and there seems to be very little sound treatment going on here.

The plant on the left looks a little bit too dark, well, almost black. With the lighting setup that you already have, I would experiment by reflecting some light into the corner or even having a separate source of (warmer) light directed at the plant. Or maybe just getting a smaller plant in a pot and putting it on your table instead of the background would make it a little bit vivid and lively. Cheers.

I see you dont have mcuh seperation from the back wall, at what height is the camera compared to the desk and how far from the desk? Would you be able to really dim the shot down and have the wall dark? or is the godox light too bright for that?

I prefer to let the light spill into the background since I don’t have the space for a second light. Recently I’m been running the ISO at 1600 and lowering the output for a balanced scene, the dark & moody look isn’t for me!

also 2 vijim keylights about 12 inch x 8 inch at 3200 temperature, sorry for somany questions but do you shoot in tungsten aswell?
@JorgePowell Жыл бұрын
Hey man, no stress! I would highly recommend setting your lights to daylight (5600K) and setting your WB to an appropriate temperature, this will look a lot more natural. I shoot my videos using SLog3 (SGamut.Cine) and grade the clips using the popular Phantom LUTs as a Rec.709 conversion. The external monitor allows me to preview the footage with the LUT already applied which really helps make sure the footage is exposed correctly too. Appreciate this is all a bit technical but hopefully gives you some direction on how to fix your issues - good luck!
