Thanks so much for this info! I’m a professional recording studio owner who’s been archiving my Facebook Lives to edit for mini classes on KZbin. It took me four days 7:04 7:07 7:07 until I saw your video about disabling Stream Deck software. It was running in the background on my Mac and prevented the buttons I created in Companion from populating my Stream Deck! Also, the info on the OBS module setup and using Companion in “Native” mode! Total game changer for my workflow! Thanks so much!!

You skip a critical step at 4:29. Where do you get the "Target IP Address"? that you enter on the OBS Config screen???

You are right. This video was meant to be more of an overview and not necessarily a Companion + OBS tutorial. I'm not sure if you're just pointing out that I didn't mention it or if you're asking. Just in case you're asking, in OBS you need to make sure to have the web socket plugin installed. As far as IP address, if Companion and OBS are on the same machine, then use 127.0.0.1 which refers to your local machine.

Hello. I need your help. I purchased the Stream deck, Stream deck xl and Stream deck Plus. My aim is to control the software FaithLife Proclaim that is a software for Presentations Church. On the Elgato MarketPlace, I downloaded and installed the plugin FaithLife on my MacBook Pro. But after affecting Actions to the Stream Deck there is no effect on the Proclaim software. Maybe there is some configurations to do before getting connection between the stream deck and the software. Could you help me to fix the issue? Thanks. Leon

How are you recording your video and showing OBS picture in picture without feedback?

I was actually using Ecamm Live on my Mac to do a screen recording of OBS. In other words, yes, I would definitely get feedback or an infinite loop if I were using OBS.

Hi my companion software just says "connecting" and doesn't go to the OK. How do I find the IP of my ATEM?

There are a few ways to find the IP address. If you have access to your router admin dashboard you should be abe to find it there. The easier way would be to use the Atem Setup app. This is different than the Atem Software Control app. In the Atem Setup App, there will be a place for networking.

Hi, is there an instance on companion that would allow you control and do clicks on a tab on chrome (or any web browser)? I'm bringing a web browser input into vMix and I would love to change stuff inside that browser window with my stream deck while still controlling vmix (either via companion or the stream deck app). Thanks!

That is an interesting scenario. I can see that being useful as well. Off the top of my head, I can see using hotkeys to help you, but that would require the Chrome browser to be active when you switch to the particular tab. Let me look into it and do some experimenting for you.

Hi Henry, which part are you specifically talking about here? The first time I talk about Target IP and Target Port is when I'm setting up the modules. The way Companion talks to other programs, so that it can control them, is through network protocols, even if the program is on the same computer. Target IP and Target Port refers to the IP address and Port Number of the program or device you are trying to control. I only know just enough networking to get by but there are plenty of tutorials on basic networking out there.

Well, I guess this is where you need to take a step back. Companion is a program that allows you to help control other applications, like OBS and an Atem Mini. The Streamdeck is just a way to interface with Companion.
