The Emperor is a better choice than Orpheus. Orpheus follows his mother's ideals and if he wins the war for power, he will then want to conquer other races

Sorry, where are you getting this from? Not a single shred of dialogue in the game suggests this. He treats you as an equal, meanwhile if you look deeper into the Emperor he really just wants to mind control you.

@@codex_jinora While you are correct about the Emperor (even when he was just Balduran he was a complete bastard), Orpheus does indeed follow his mother, Gith's ideals, else he would have left with the Githzerai when they objected to her plans to conquer the multiverse (the schism occurred well before Vlaakith's rise and Orpheus' imprisonment). Now, as for whether he would indeed attempt to conquer the multiverse, it is unlikely at this point he would be successful. The Githyanki are not the power they were when Gith led them, and Orpheus would no doubt attempt to rescue his mother from Tiamat in Avernus, which would undoubtedly spell his doom.

Orpheus has the courage to become a mind flayer and let you kill him after the day is won (Even though he’s just gotten out of weird magic stasis jail after being stuck so long). The Emperor would never do something so sacrificial or selfless.

Poor little fella is soo used to being a selfobsessed manipulator he cant see the forest for the bloody trees. For Tav and all of the origin companions the Emperor is literally the entire reason you are in this mess seeing as he was at the very least piloting the nautiloid.
