A lost art my friend. I drove a few when I started. No one taught me I figured it out. I was never as good as some of these older guys are, but then that's all they had when hey started. I had a Allison auto in a 73 Diamond Reo. hated them then hate them now. My last job was changing over to all auto Just as I decided to retire. Shifting properly is a skill, another trucker skill going to be lost to the new gen of drivers.( notice I said drivers &not truckers,, there is a difference) anyway, stay safe & upright out there & thanks for trucking during this pandemic, Wish I was out there doing my job again to help out, but I give my thanks & support everyone

That's a penske rental. They sell them at 500k or 5 years. Whatever comes first unless it's an International then sold before warrant wears out. Usually 3 years. Those trucks have their own issues. Many windscreens leak causing the sam cab modules to short which is located under the glove box. Being a multiplexed truck isn't old school. Freightliner been doing it old a few years unlike international where they are much more versed in it. Newer Cascadias are a single sam unit now.

Brand new TriPack starts at $8,000 I’m a owner operator and my truck isn’t governed but I choose to drive 65. Why be I a rush? Speeding, disregarding work zone safety and all the unsafe unprofessional acts from new generation drivers. That’s why I trip plan every load at 50 mph so I’m leaving myself plenty of cushion. I get paid percentage so I’m not chasing miles so I love driving 65 just enjoy the drive. Great video man

I wish I could buy a Tripac for $3K. Try about $12k brand new from ThermoKing. I wanted to upgrade my Carrier until I found out the actual price. And if you think that truck is rough and old school try jumping into and early 2000's Freightliner FLD120. You'll appeciate that Cascadia.

Just listening to this "million miler" and I realize he doesn't know jack shit about trucks or trucking. Sad state of affairs for trucking in general. At the wages these company drivers get paid this guy is all the carriers can look forward to.

My dad drives a '15 Cascadia, it has the Cummins ISX15 and that same Eaton Smart Shift, but his has a clutch pedal for start, stop and change between D, R and N... It has 280K miles and it's been constantly having transmission issues, once it got stuck on neutral while turning a very busy intersection on the middle of the highway. That truck has been very unreliable...

I think the reason why your clutch vibrates hard on forward and backward, its maybe because the clutch lining and clutch plate needs to be replace. It might be metal on metal.. and also release bearing might be stuck up as well.

advice for better coffee, get a k-cup press from amazon, and a kettle. it's cheaper, and you can get a lot better coffee :) As for the casgaydia, that sounds normal for a rental. I got stuck with one and it was pretty neutered.

Answering question about why new cascadias are more quiet. Not all of them. You had an upgraded one. They just put another layer of insulation inside of the cab, cheaper versions have the same insulation’s meaning it’s gonna be as loud as the older cascadia. Telling from my experience, there’s one video on my channel you can see second later of insulation.
