And is this buddy SS Obersturmfürehr Michael Wittmann in real life?
@dragon-wolf99164 жыл бұрын
Sometimes it took numerous shots for a kill depending on the vehicle . . . it was not always one shot, one kill . . . this looks like a hypothetical Tiger crew full of panzer aces . . . and Wittmann's Tiger's no. was 007.

It is believed that during the battle of Villers Bocage Wittmann used Tiger number 222, which was normally commanded by Unterscharführer Kurt Sowa. There is still some debate on which Tiger was actually used as sources differ, but most definitely it was not 007

Why germany is tiger tank is super legend tank
@MrProsat4 жыл бұрын
Tactically, yes. Operational/strategically? No. Broke down a lot, sucked up gas (that the Germans had little of), required heavy capacity bridges to cross (lot in France won't support that weight). And without infantry, it can be destroyed just like any other tank with a man with a bazooka.
@MrProsat4 жыл бұрын
As a german commander, you would be better off with mark IV's, which were much more reliable and still were good in tactical battles. I would rather go into battle with all of my company tanks and a 100 km range, then half of them broke down and with only enough gas to go 30 km. And beware if i have to drive cross country or cross a french bridge. Oh, and the jabos could destroy tigers just as easily. Pics of them tirned upside down from a bomb blast.
@karstenseterbakken36174 жыл бұрын
@@MrProsat > "Beware if i have to drive cross country or cross a french bridge" Ah really mister "Klugscheißer", Than i must sadden you and tell that there are many records of that the Tiger neither of its "Weight" had much better abilities to drive on mud, snow and sand than a Sherman or a Matilda.thus for it unique wheel packaging design and the bride tracks, just like the T-34. You could be faster stuck in mud on a Sherman than in a Tiger. The bridge thing is also more of a movie myth than reality. On the eastern front they didnt bother for the bridges when they let these big cats drive over them and i thing these bridges was far less designed for carrying vehicles than caravans with horses. "Than half of the broke down and only enough gas to go 30km" Yeh that with the gas thing is true but this was only due to the lack of logistic transportation by every day uninterrupted air-raids on railways and roads they didnt could held the fuel economy for these vechicles. The allies didnt had any of these problems and their engines was far less usage friendly than a Maybach engine with multifuel ability like some simple examples of Tiger E and Tiger 2s had. And beside remember that actually when the biggest fights started in France only 6 Tigers where deployed on the whole front to keep up the fight (more of the were deployed further). By every crew it was a thing when every time they got out of the vehicle to count the impacts on the armor after the fight was over, it was normal with number like 100-200 hits in various calibers. Sure its pretty normal by a kill count of 20-30 that something will kick off in the tank, when it is the hydraulic system for elevating the main board gun , or the transmission after getting hit so many times. Its a normal thing on every tank even today. And still it was actually no problem to change the parts, the Tiger was developed to be like a LEGO building set, you could interchange everthing with it only you had the fitting reserve part and a small mobile crane. Try that with a Matilda or a Valentine that every part was wielded, included the engine onto the chassis, making part interchangeability and proper repair impossible. This is why even the Russians didn't wanted to use them after the losses on the southern front. >"Pics of them tirned upside down from a bomb blast". No shit mister, this is a common problem every tanks had during the war. Even today it didn't changed the problem with heavy armory are declared as most vulnerable by airstrikes in form of heavy bombs and missiles. This is also why manufactures of ATGMs are developing rockets which shall take up the behavior of hitting heavy armored targets such as MBTs on the upper sides. And tank manufactures are tearing their hair out of their skulls and trying to develop much more reliable security mechanism of blocking of such types of lethal attacks. Even when the Tiger or the Pz 4 was developed for not encountering other huge tanks like the M26 Patton or the IS, it still had the required firepower and mobility to pick up the fight with them. Like we can see on footages and reports of knocked out pattons by tigers and Porsche SPGs and of knocked out IS tanks by STUGs, and Pz 4s

@@MrProsat The bazooka was a terribpe AT weapon, most rely on AT guns or other tanks. Aircraft also aren't reliable for taking out tanks. The Tiger was the least likely tank to get bogged down in the German Army apart from the Panzer 3, It was also mechanically reliable and most of its break downs were attributed to inexperienced crews later in the war. Apart from weight, the only true competitor against the Tiger 1 was the IS 1, IS 2, SU 100 and of course, the SU 152.
