The 36 is the only slimline Glock with an overall height between 4.7-4.8 inches tall. I've found in comparison a Glock 26 has a grip too short and a Glock 19 has a grip that's too long. The other slimline Glocks are similar, grips are either too short or too long. The Glock 30 and 29 have similar length grips but are too thick. So that's one of the main reasons I carry a 36. It's a Glock, it's 45 ACP, and it's the right size.

I would *almost* agree; I had a .45 shield when I couldn't find a 36. I have a 30S *AND* a 30 as well, but no matter how you slice it, they are chunks, and after my back surgery they were just a bit much to carry. So, the Shield was the perfect size, drop dead accurate, never a flaw whatsoever. Except...I could only get it with that infernally small thumb safety. And I'm a southpaw. Just couldn't work the safety under stress left handed. And carrying with it "off" landed me a couple of times in the "somehow it got knocked on" position. I asked S&W about removing it (yes, I know there are diy ways), and they told me to pound sand. So I grudgingly sold it. Finally found a 36, so far so good. With Wilson Combat Battlesights, its accurate and smooth. So I dunno. I love the 30 and 30S, amazing guns. Better capacity, but...bricks. Choices, choices.

But the main reason to go with the 30 over the 36 is the 30 can use the 21 mags as a back up mag, and more bullets is always better. @@boomfish558 I thought the state government banned citizens from having handguns that hold more than 10 rounds????
@boomfish5583 жыл бұрын
Nope, you, me and all VA citIzens are good. Technically there are no high capacity magazine limits in VA. State law overrides local laws. However, the State has allowed some of the most populated local governments’ laws on high capacity magazines/assault weapons (VA definition not mine) to stand. For example, a VA citizen can’t openly carry or conceal carry any loaded semi auto handgun or riffle equipped with a magazine that can hold More than 20 rounds whether it holds 20 rounds or not , or a loaded shot gun that can hold more than 7 rounds in public in these particular counties/cities. More than 20 rounds is VA’s definition of an assault weapon. However, if you have a VA conceal carry permit you can. There are other exceptions as well. So, technically not a HCM ban or limit but one does have to go through the process of getting a VA conceal carry permit to do so. Of course having a concealed carry permit or not one can’t carry inside courts, gov buildings etc. I live in a rural county and a local restriction is we can’t have a loaded riffle or shotgun in a car. CCP or not. Pistol no problem. In 2020 there was a bill to ban assault weapons (again VA’s definition not mine) that would directly/indirectly ban some types of the most popular guns simply by restricting the magazine capacity to no more than 12 rounds. Fortunately it didn’t pass. Even some Democrats in the state legislature voted it down. So go get you that 21SF!

Oh yeah, and the cruciform, striker safety plunger and trigger housing spring system being different on newer gens).

There are minor differences in the length of the trigger bar and the little FCG group at the back due to the smaller frames. This results in slightly different trigger feels between the double-stack and single-stack guns due to the different geometry.

What is really important is how ell you can shoot one over the other. 6-7 rounds of .45 stops the threat if you hit'em right where it hurts. I was at the outdoor range one day when two guys came along. As they were next to me I observed them shooting at a rapid fire rate. After about 100 rounds they both, after looking at the target, were extremely unhappy with the results. I saw one had a Glock and the other an S&W so I jokingly said to them-why do you not just trade guns and see how you shoot? To all of our surprise they both were quite happy with the results to the point that they traded guns right then and there. Which is why i shot several guns after that before buying the gun I shot best now. I think that is why gun makers have back straps of different sizes for their gun now.

So if you’re gonna carry… carry full size. As responsible EDC operators we sometimes have to wear longer coats and bigger flannels however you and your loved ones are worth being a little uncomfortable for. Sure it can be uncomfortable sometimes but concealing your most important option to stop a threat is worth it. finding the right holster can be a pain in the ass sometimes but when it comes to your last line of defense, well, that’s something I just wouldn’t compromise on a smaller magazine for. Now, if it comes to grip and not being able to comfortably shoot accurately, then I totally understand the Glock 36.

I went there "thinking" I was going to be liking the 36 way more/ No way, every shot of the 36, the spent shells came back and smacked me right in my forehead, and going down my wife's top, landing in back of her hair that was up in a bun. No way, plus on top of all that you've got JUST 6 +1, as opposed to 10+1, or with the G-21 mag. then it's 13+1. Even something more with a 25 rds. "FUN-STICK",, then you've got 25+1! We both loved the G-26, but not a fan of our pinky's swinging freely, so we got +2's for all of our mags. But after watching this, I see no benefit to go to a Glock 30 from my 27 (40) or even a 29 (10mm), in the event I want more hitting power. For that matter, with a small pistol of just 6 rounds, I’d rather carry my Glock 43 (9mm) and two spare mages, all loaded with 147gr HSTs. Then again, I am a minimalist and rarely carry my Glock 26 (9mm) or G27, because the 43 is so much nicer to edc in the appendix.

Glock came out with a new Glock 30S same as the 30 except it's got a shoulder frame still hose at 10 round magazine which they never work you can only put 9 rounds in it the most you may be lucky if the wow you could get 10 in the Glock 6 is more like a 1911 oh so a smaller one like the 1911 officer model it's a better gun for concealed carry you don't need autos rounds you're not a policeman you could carry two six rounds which gives you 12 rounds rather than one big fat 10 round magazine glock 36 is used by a lot of policemen has their backup gun off duty gun 💯👍

I bought a G36 when that model first came out. It was a jam- o -matic. I couldn't hit the side of a barn with it. Maybe my hands were too big for that small a gun. I can see why they stopped at gen 3 .

The problem was twofold, slide velocity and weak mag springs. Stock RSA is 17#, change it to 19 or 21# Wolff spring, and xtra power mag springs solves the problems
@mi777ke7773 жыл бұрын
@@gregentwistle5105 Thanks for the info. I tried the mag springs and still run into ftf's. Maybe I'll try the 19 recoil spring and see. I've tuned the mags, left the stock etc I think the main problem is the mags on the 36.
@gregentwistle51053 жыл бұрын
I tried the 19# first and it solved the FTF issue. Then I bumped up to 21# and still good to go. Buy the recoil rod & spring combo from Wolff, it’ll fix it.

Really just proves the 1911 is the perfect gun for the 45 round. You get the reliability, higher round capacity and the thinner profile all in one package. I have a 30SF and I still like it because I can move between 9 and 13 rounds based on the magazine selection alone.. But it is a chunky little gun.

Not very innovative 45 cartridge deserves to have a longer Barrel than 3 in 3 inches for a Centerfire cartridges pathetic 445 if you ask me if you want a compact concealed 45 angle with the rimfire 45 revolver if you want a small gun that packs a large punch other than that keep the 45 comfortable launching out the classic Tailored 1911 and that's what a heavy 45 should be regularly getting shot out of in my opinion the only and having a Rimfire 45 out of a compact revolver for concealed carry is the most ideal since that's the slimmest package you can possibly get plus from the revolvers platform is of course using Rimfire cartridge is obviously a little longer meaning delivery only more muzzle energy out of a revolver short muzzle and without a u recoil spring operating system to lessen the inertia or felt Recoil the only delivering that much more energy out of the business end of a revolver
