Comparing 4 Popular Ukulele String Sets on a Kanile'a (Worth/Uke Logic/Guadalupe/Ukes With Alex)

1.Alex 2.Guadalupe 3.Uke Logic 4. Worth This surprised me but I also find that different strings work better on different instruments. The 2 strings I have never used actually sound better to me on this Super Tenor. I personally use and like Worth and Uke Logic on my instruments. The size of the instrument also is a factor for me. Some strings just don't sound right on smaller instruments. This is why we need lots of ukes and lots of strings. 😇

Thanks, Alex… I liked the Uke Logic & Alex the best. Then Worth (I have them on my Martin Koa tenor) then Guadalupe…my issue with the Worth strings is that they are very small in diameter…

Strings have a feel, too. I often go for strings that feel right over sound.

I watched the Guadalupe video last night and I understood the variety but nothing seemed to standout. Although this comparison they did for me. 1) Guadalupe 2) Alex 3) Worth 4) Logic I also agree with previous commenters that size is a factor, I did not care for the Worth's on my super tenor but decent on my concert. Martin's on the ST sound great ( to me ).

As someone has already mentioned, it’s not just sound with different strings, it’s how they feel. It would have been helpful if you could have commented on tension? Great video though, thank you.

thanks for showing us around your laboratory of ukulele science. in the end its probably just personal preference. the uke logic strings sound as if someone has put a sock over the microphone. i like the warmth of the worth.

I do understand Kanile’a issue with OHA line, but i like the way Pops and sa boys have done with their KoAlana line. They produce great instruments no matter where they are made.

First suprise is really nice sustain and they are really nice for the price due to pedigree and Koa. A. Worth B. Ukes with Alex C. Uke Logic D. Guadalupe. Am surprised at my choice as I have Uke Logic on a few of my Ukes. Thanks Alex for the great run through. Have a great week.

Ok I listened to the sound demos without knowing which strings were, first and last to my ears sounded great with this uke, then 2nd then third. So in order Guadalupe, Ukeswith, Ukelogic then Worth based on the fingerstyle demos. To be honest they all sound great, and really subjective based on my own preference sound. As always thanks Alex!

My Snail Tenor had a low g fitted, must admit been a struggle getting used to it, still sounds great and I will persevere 😂

I gotta go with Alex. I liked his strings best on the first sound sample. But... I dug the Uke Logics most for the second sample.

Is there a low G ukes with Alex set that would give me an alternative to the Worths on a Kala Revelator? :)

The set in the video is the standard Low G set and they work fine on a Revelator.

They've been making Islander Ukuleles in China for 14 years. Your comment mirrors the point I'm making about the name in the video is that they shouldn't have used the Kanile'a name on the Chinese made instrument and they won't be going forward.
