Cool now I know what a triple cone synchro looks like compared to a standard synchro

Dude. Write down what you plan to say next time. I got so lost so many times with your words I had to mute it so I could better understand.

hii, why single cone , 2 cones and 3 cones ? is it for bigger engine hence need bigger friction ? or does small car also have 3 cones ? does it affect performance of synchronize faster ? thanks andrew

the more cones - the bigger the friction area between the syncros and the driving gear, and the syncros job is to match the speed between the ''engine speed and gearbox speed'' in simple english. more surface-area = more friction means that the syncro can match the speed of the gear alot quicker, which ultimately means that you can throw in the gears alot faster than with a single syncro. This essentially means that it has no use in road cars, but in manual sportscars it makes it so that you can slam in the gears and accelerate quicker. Basically every normal everyday road-car only has a single syncro

Why did ford change their single synchro on m5r2 now I cant find a single three piece syncro on the internee for my f150

@@Aronsson007 Correct, but many 2000's-newer road cars use double and triple cones now (usually on lowers gears) - my 06 Kia Rio has double 1, 2, 3 and single 4, 5 - 2012-on models use triple 1, double 2, 3 and single 4-5 (or 6) - even "budget" cars have today

Thanks - finally get the difference - there is a PDF here - www.hedan.pl/downloads/2009/zastosowania/Motoryzacja/intermediate_rings_for_multi_cone_synchronizer_systems.pdf which also help - simply put more friction surface available results in quicker synchroniser action and less shift effort!
