You mentioned fashioning some kind of keel from a pool noodle. It sounds doable, but I don't think I've ever seen it. According to B.T.G. this Saturn model has 4 skegs attached fore and aft on the main tubes to increase tracking stability and decrease the wind effect while on open water. That's got to be worth something when paddling kayak style as well. I want THAT kaboat. Thanks for the videos. You are a terrific, engaging advocate for the product.

Thx. So where would the catamarans fit into the mix? Which models are best for ocean only, meaning running into chop often but still want a very small boat. Catamarans? Thanks
@ErickMartinSucre
@ErickMartinSucre 2 жыл бұрын
Ok, I'll give you my own personal opinion. Most catamaran users I know are in Australia where Catamaran racing is very popular. They are very quick and stay above water for the most part, while going incredibly fast. As for casual users, you're better off using a standard shape inflatable boat. Since catamarans have an open front, while handling large chops, water can get in. They do well when the waters are calm for casual use. Thundercat Catamaran is the most sought after brand.

Hello, I was wondering on how was the performance of 6hp outboard in your dinghy? Will it run pretty well with 4 adults passengers? How fast can it go on calm water?
@ErickMartinSucre
@ErickMartinSucre 5 ай бұрын
I will not lie to you in any way, shape, or form. With me and some gear, I got around 14mph max, but 4 people and a 6hp? Nope, you'll just drah around 5-6mph. You'll need a 15hp or higher. If you live in an area that allows 2-stroke outboards, you may want to consider an 18hp Hangkai "15hp Yamaha 2-stroke outboard clone" instead. amzn.to/3WCeJ7O

Do you like this one or the zk380 for ocean? I plan to go mainly alone but occasionally with 1-2 more people. I’m stuck between the zk380 or the 470xl. I’m using a mercury 8hp
@ErickMartinSucre
@ErickMartinSucre 8 ай бұрын
The ZK380 would provide better handling of waves and large wake, while the SK470XL would be quicker on the water. If you feel skilled enough in the water, get the SK470XL, but if you'll like a bit more safety in the water, go for the ZK380. If for any reason you cannot settle, I always recommend the SD365 dinghy. It is a really well-rounded model that can tackle almost anything in the water. alnk.to/8PDMKhT

Mr. Sucre...may I ask your opinion of a Saturn Inflatable Dinghy versus the Saturn Inflatable Catamaran? For equal length vessels, it seems that the catamaran weighs less. Does the catamaran let a lot more water in the front, or is that not really true? (It seems the cat will offer more stability and length for the weight.) :)

They haven't had the Catamarans in stocks for years now. Some of my viewers use the Bris model and they seem to like it. It is true, catamarans do not do good in high swells because the water can come in from the front. You'll do ok using it in calm waters and White caps

Man!! great content as always!! Thanks for doing the comparison brother!! I (think I) was the one (if not, one of the few people) that asked for this comparison.. and thank you tremendously for making it and for the (anonymous) shout out.. lol and for future ref., you totally have my permission to say my name or KZbin username.. frankly it made me feel a lil famous 😂😂😂 when you did lol.. I dont have any content (yet....) but I hope to in the future.. cheers brother 🙋‍♂️🤙

I have NOT SEEN Not even 1 saturn inflatable boat rushing through the ocean, just like takacat, zodiac and many others do, makes me wonder if saturn is a quality company or not, im thinking to spend more money and to get the one that was tested in the sea, lakes are nothing, they cant give you real handling of choppy waves and weather
