You mentioned fashioning some kind of keel from a pool noodle. It sounds doable, but I don't think I've ever seen it. According to B.T.G. this Saturn model has 4 skegs attached fore and aft on the main tubes to increase tracking stability and decrease the wind effect while on open water. That's got to be worth something when paddling kayak style as well. I want THAT kaboat. Thanks for the videos. You are a terrific, engaging advocate for the product.
Look at the pictures on the link and you'll see how they do it.

Thx. So where would the catamarans fit into the mix? Which models are best for ocean only, meaning running into chop often but still want a very small boat. Catamarans? Thanks
@ErickMartinSucre2 жыл бұрын
Ok, I'll give you my own personal opinion. Most catamaran users I know are in Australia where Catamaran racing is very popular. They are very quick and stay above water for the most part, while going incredibly fast. As for casual users, you're better off using a standard shape inflatable boat. Since catamarans have an open front, while handling large chops, water can get in. They do well when the waters are calm for casual use. Thundercat Catamaran is the most sought after brand.

I will not lie to you in any way, shape, or form. With me and some gear, I got around 14mph max, but 4 people and a 6hp? Nope, you'll just drah around 5-6mph. You'll need a 15hp or higher. The ZK380 would provide better handling of waves and large wake, while the SK470XL would be quicker on the water. Mr. Sucre...may I ask your opinion of a Saturn Inflatable Dinghy versus the Saturn Inflatable Catamaran? For equal length vessels, it seems that the catamaran weighs less. They haven't had the Catamarans in stocks for years now. Some of my viewers use the Bris model and they seem to like it. It is true, catamarans do not do good in high swells because the water can come in from the front. You'll do ok using it in calm waters and White caps
