Comparing Blackberries, Loganberries, Tayberries and Marionberries

In this video I taste test and compare the Triple Crown Blackberry, Prime Ark Freedom Blackberry, Loganberry, Tayberry and Marionberry. This video was filmed on June, 30th 2021.

I’m located just north of Oregon in Yacolt Washington. I have Loganberries, Tayberries, Boysenberries, Marionberries, red and golden raspberries and blueberries. My berries were getting covered with the wild Himalayan blackberries you mentioned. I almost just let them grow because they are naturally more vigorous and taste great. I grew up next to my uncle’s house and he had berries so I want to recreate that. It’s nice to be able to leisurely pick berries on a nice day. I have 2 90’ rows and two blueberry areas. Thanks for the great video! Marionberries were developed in Marion County Oregon if you didn’t already know.

very nice, after seeing the video I took the brix of my berries. Osage and Triple crown - 12-13 and Marion berry - 16. I loved the MB but my wife who likes low-acid fruits prefers Osage

I generally like the sweet acidic stuff, more “flavor”. Interesting your Marioberries were 16 Brix! I will have to keep Checking, they are very good.

Interesting video, I am a fan of all the brambles, the wineberry is the coolest of them all, the berries are glossy and sticky and they come in thorny "invasion of the body snatcher" type pods that pop open when they are ripe. Thimbleberries make the best jam.

Mmm thimbleberries are my favorite. Probably because they are so different from the others.

I haven't tried the wineberry, but out of all the brambles, the black raspberry is without question my favorite that I have tasted.

Out of all the varieties I've ever tried, the Marionberry and Boysenberry are the only blackberries I thought were worth eating. In my opinion all other varieties should be killed off and only these two should be grown. They are just that much more superior than the others in my opinion. If anyone has tried a different berry in this league I'd like to know the variety

nothing beats a black raspberry, I also found some wild strawberries once that blew my mind how good they were, wild serviceberries are a 10 as well

I don't know if it's marionberries but I'm here in Salem Oregon. And the blackberries are huge compared to where I used to live in Florida!

Logan berries taste like raspberries but are shaped like long blackberries but you have to eat soon after picking them because they are soft
