Very interesting - never would have thought of copy/paste into Beyond Compare to compare two components.

How did I never find / use the CnPack compare tool? Way better than clicking back and forth trying to spot the differences!

This was great Alister. I had no idea you could just copy and paste into Beyond Compare like that. Thank you.

Beyond Compare is available from within the Delphi IDE. Edit > Compare > Launch Beyond Compare

It is indeed, if you install it.

Use both tools CN PACK and Beyond Compare. Both great tools, CN Pack is free!

Alister -- these are the kind of tips one might learn looking over the shoulder of a colleague -- but many of us don't have colleagues using Delphi, so it's great to look over your shoulder, so to speak! Regarding cnPack -- could you comment on how intrusive cnPack is once installed in the IDE? I'm hesitant to install add-ons willy-nilly, as I never know when some later IDE misbehavior is going to cause a puzzle as to whether it's the base IDE's fault or some add-on.

There is some stuff in cnPack that is quite annoying, but it's easy to disable parts of it you don't like. Mostly though, it's quite awesome.
