Just me that don’t like how they made the skywalker saga. Haven’t played it because the gameplay turned me off that it’s basically a walking simulator filled with repetitive mechanics and no real missions and LEGO Star Wars III is the best in my meaning love the OG ones but I just have so many memories of the third one

A fun fact about the Kamino level: In free play, if you bring in Dooku or Sidious(Basically anyone with Force Lighting), you can actually use it to kill the Kaminoans, who are normally invincible. Due to their usual inability to die, they won't respawn unless you change areas in the level.

So three things: First of all, I love that Keith and Rob are finally mentioned, they are always ignored in all the other parts and films. Second, I watched the scene at 7:25 5 times and tried to see a lipstick or something but probably my mind is too messed up... I love how you mentioned the differences in Gunship Cavalry between the 2005 game and The Complete Saga. But you forgot to mention differences in the pod race level in the Episode I video. In the original 2005 game, the pod race map is split into three sections per lap, and has a time limit, a very strict one. This was nerfed in The Complete Saga, by removing the sections and time limit, and your only objective is to beat Sebulba.

Thats one part of it, playing them side by side show a few more. TCS Podracing is a lot (atleast it looks and feels) faster, but you also have a LOT more control over your vehicle, making it easier to dodge things, and nail the boost panels. And it supports free play, so you can use other vehicles... will need a tie fighter for one of the minikits.

The Corsucant chase actually was in the first Lego Star Wars game in the files. You could play it through mods but it wasn't finished, the devs didn't have time to complete the level before the game came out iirc

I'm so glad somebody sees past the Skywalker Saga's pretty visuals. I was so disappointed when I started playing it and saw it was just a walking game with very meager tidbits in between. Like damn, I thought I flew and walked all this way to play the game, not watch another cutscene. I will say, collecting things is fun. The puzzles are fun. They're even better in the open world than in the actual levels themselves. More effort and creativity was put into supplementary content rather than what was supposed to be the focus of the game: the episodes.

Yep. I was extremely excited about the game, but it's just so boring(I stopped during VII because I was over it). I can still go back to games like TCS and 3 and still have a lot of fun, but TSS is complex in all the wrong ways. Modern Lego Games try too hard to be like a normal game, but never hit the mark. They should be putting these resources towards a really good 3D game similar to Fallen Order that is a retelling of each Trilogy(all 3 would be too much for 1 game). I pretty much just wanted a TCS Remake with VII-IX being added on.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks Ep.II Obi-Wan's minifig in The Skywalker Saga looks inconsistent next to how all the other Jedi have the classic Lego cape instead of The Dude's dressing gown. Skywalker Saga turns into less of a walking simulator if you stop to take part in the little sidequests and glowy brick hunts, but I guess if you're playing for speed when you've got a video to make and you've just come off the back of the older games, that's not always an option.

Stopping to do the side content actually made the game less enjoyable, for me at least. I usually love doing everything possible in games(especially the older Lego Games), but TSS was just really boring. They added in a bunch on complex gameplay mechanics and features, but they just detracted from the charm and enjoyment of Lego Games, again for me personally.

It's actually baffling how much better The Lego Star Wars III Geonosis Arena battle is than The Skywalker Saga's Geonosis Arena battle level. I was so disappointed when I played it for the first time on Skywalker Saga - it's such a clunky and buggy level and you don't get much out of the experience at all because the level progression battling the three monsters and Jango Fett is so scuffed, and that's besides the biggest problem which is the fact that there is barely any droids compared to the plethora of droids to destroy in the Lego Star Wars III arena, and you can't even ride the horned monster in the game released 11 years later!

Me and my siblings wore out the LEGO Clone Wars game, and we never even watched the show at the time. The wide variety of characters that you could play as was awesome, the huge selection of weapons that you could kill your siblings with was awesome, and the freedom to create several custom characters was awesome. In short, awesome.

I'm pretty sure it does on every version image different spots. On Xbox, it always crashes when you enter a specific area. On PlayStation, it has a chance to crash in the same spot as Xbox, but it isn't guaranteed. I haven't played the Wii version of TCS in forever, so I'm not sure where it crashes.

Really? I have the Wii version of TCS and it's never crashed. Skywalker Saga's droid factory did slow the game to like 1 frame per second when it first released though.

I never really cared for the skywalker saga. I played through it and the whole time was like “wow this looks incredible!” And then after beating it, I barely remembered anything from it and a month later, I got it off my shelf and was like “why did I enjoy this?”

I remember playing the first game a lot when I was really young, along with Lego Batman 1, and I had a hard time finding the 10th minikit in Droid Factory and getting True Jedi in it and the other levels so I never knew what was behind the "?" door until years later when I finally "100%" the game. Also, you would pretty much only compare the games for the first 6 movies since The Force Awakens was only in the lego game of the same name and Skywalker Saga whereas TLJ and TROS were only in Skywalker Saga.

Gunship Cavalry was the bane of my existence as a child. On the whole AotC was the weakest of the episodes in the original Lego Star Wars and in the Complete Saga edition too. If I had to pick a favourite level it might have been Kamino for some of the fun little easter eggs it had.

That game actually doesn't feature the Geonosis Arena level, it's just levels from the actual shows. The tutorial level instead is the Ambush level, the one where Yoda fights together with a clone squad against a hundred droids.

I have to say I am pretty disappointed with the Skywalker saga game. I was excited when I could finally buy it but imo it lost the lego game appeal. The actual levels are pretty boring and the overworld is big but there is too much to do and the markers to show all collectables are too annoying on screen. I miss the old games, to me Lego Harry Potter and The Lord Of The Rings are the best lego games made

I grew up with the original and the GBA port (which I remember episode 3 being particularly tough for some reason) and I thought it was cool because it was the first instance where I realized different platforms have different levels for games. I have the Skywalker saga too, and I like it a lot, but yeah if you’re strictly focused on story mode and not collecting/exploring things it’s pretty meh.

In the original LSW there was a section in the Count Dooku boss battle in which he threw Force lightning at you and you had to quickly press the Force button to throw it back at him. For some reason, they removed that bit in the Complete Saga and replaced it with the part from the Darth Maul and EP III Dooku fight where he would Force choke one character and you had to quickly switch to the secondary character (or let the other player handle this) and hit him with the lightsaber. I was really disappointed with that change, since it removed a unique aspect of the EP II boss fight and replaced it with something repetitive from the other boss fights.

Actually, they replaced it with the Force Lightning from The Emperor's boss fight from Ep VI. Not Maul's Force Choke. In fact, they removed Maul's choke from his battle and replaced EP III Dooku's choke with lightning.

The disco floor is always great just like the chairs.ghr GBA/DS ones look pretty good for content/structure/gameplay honestly even if never played them only he console version. Will say the Skywalker Saga having lightsabers for door opening and climbing is pretty cool. I got to say walking and quests is never a good thing why did they have to do that in Skywalker Saga. I don't own it but still it's the most 'we want to be a modern game' ever design and it's hilariously dumb. Travelers Tales: You know what people must have hated with the old games. Having vehicle sections to break up the gameplay so let's keep it to the same experience throughout of only Lego characters and more interesting gameplay let's add walking modern games do walking people like to look around, have side quests, be bored walking to see what art we have created. Players: Yeah no give me the old games any day thanks for varied gameplay instead. It may look nice but if it's walking and very brief combat and puzzle and not enough models on screen because the graphics for the environments or particles have to be good even though it can't be that hard to do when they are small spaces anyways then why bother. I swear the PS4/Xbox One can likely do it, PS5/Xbox Series obviously can but Switch maybe.

Really? Clone Wars is considered one of the best animated shows (& pieces of Star Wars media) out there. Younger me didn't like the Lego game because it only barely covered the first two seasons of the show, they simplified some of the characters, like making Echo just another rocket launcher character for gameplay when he's supposed to be an extremely cautious character, the basic real-time strategy mode got repetitive really fast, and the "traveling"/warping to different planets in the hub world does nothing except change the background.

Pointlessly walking from A to B has been my biggest complaint about Skywalker Saga. Although it does get a bit better in episode 3 and onward. Overall though I think it's a fun game and a nice love letter to fans.

Yeah, it took a sec before I realized that this game was built differently then the originals. Five missions per movie (which still comes to 45 just from the length of the saga) but strung together through hub worlds. They clearly want you to play in those with the full cast of characters, which is fun is not what I was expecting. Episode II’s mystery/romance-based plot means that it has a lot of walking with less action for those 5 allotted missions.

It's clearly geared toward fans of open-world games, and I don't think that's a bad thing. Episode II definitely seems to be the most rushed (although I haven't seen anyone play the sequel trilogy yet).

There's a pretty cool cave section, but unfortunately it isn't very long. In the original games, they would've made that cave section its own level. Still having a lot of fun though.

To be honest, my biggest problem with Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is actually the voice cast! As someone who enjoys animation, I take voice acting very seriously. As happy as I am to hear Lego Star Wars characters talking, I was hoping that this new feature would provoke a proper voice cast. Unfortunately, not only did these people just recast the actors from Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008 show), who have now gotten much older, but even for the Original Trilogy a lot of the star characters sound too old to be believable. Such characters as Padawan Obi-Wan, Anakin Skywalker and Original Trilogy Luke should be voiced by people either in their twenties (at youngest) or just starting on their thirties (at oldest). But instead, they are voiced by people either ending their thirties or starting their fifties! And such children as Anakin's Childhood and Boba Fett's childhood; I recently found out they were voiced by adult females pretending to be children! Therefore, the voice cast of Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga was a true disappointment. I will comment each of Flandrew's videos not with opinions about the games themselves, but with lists of who I personally believe should have been cast as each characters' voices.

As a kid I always found it weird that in the DS version of the complete saga at the droid factory level padmes rocking a midriff before the Jedi battle stage just without the claw marks. I wonder why the developers did that 😂😂😂 they did the same thing in the gba version where from episode 1 to 3 she still has her belly out.

Those levels that feel like hub levels are hub levels. I think they are why I drifted away from Skywalker Saga, it just wants you to piss off and see the hubs too much. And I just think the miming minifigs in the earlier games had more charisma

I’m still really disappointed by the levels in skywalker saga, even more since there’s no new game plus, most of the story is told through the open world but once you play that once you can’t do it again. Haven’t picked it up since I finished

I think the Skywalker saga episodes being exploration heavy was the intention. The game was designed to have you explore the planets and not only focus on the plot.

The Clone Wars game almost did get Toy-accurate faces. Thank goodness they decided to stick with the classic faces.
