Mistakes: - Apparently guns DO also jam in Metro Exodus. Don't know how that escaped me during two playthroughs. - When I was talking about radiation at around 12:59, I meant to say that I didn't see the importance of "crafting air filters" during my 1st playthrough, not "crafting and such" in general. During my 1st run, I was constantly low on ammo and syringes, so crafting was very important. - When I'm making comparisons between Metro and FC2's gameplay (ex. resource management, difficulty), keep in mind that my experience playing FC2 (usually on Infamous) is far more lengthy than the time I have put into Exodus. So unfortunately my perspective is not gonna be the most even or accurate.

This is definitely the only real spiritual successor to Far Cr 2 that has come out since 2008. It's a pretty cool game but I much prefer the aesthetics of reality that FC2 portrays. I'd much rather fight African mercenaries that radioactive creatures, demons and soviet bloc rebels, etc. I'm just happy that it has a physical map in the game that you use. I really want to see something like that in a FPS multiplayer game.

@@thomasquwack9503 Yes, it's specifically Metro Exodus that feels like FC2 because of it's free-roam level design.

Jan 2022 update: My PC died, and I'm broke, so no more videos for the foreseeable future, including that deep-dive video. Here's my blog version of the deep-dive: atestinal.wordpress.com/2022/03/09/an-actual-deep-dive-into-far-cry-2/ If you guys want to see a Metro Exodus fan's take on Far Cry 2, check out this guy's video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qnewZWyOqqiAbrc I'm not associated with Deadbent, just thought that this was a cool video. Don't forget to check out OverClocked Remix ( ocremix.org ) , which is where I got most of this video's music for free. It's all remixes of all sorts of video game music, covering all sorts of music genres. If you want to point out any mistakes or inaccuracies, or just thought my Borderlands opinion was dumb, feel free to give your opinions. I don't have nearly as much experience with this game as the actual fans do.

This is great. I'm playing through Exodus for about the 4th time right now and I was thinking that some of the elements felt similar to FC2 (my favorite shooter). This game really needs a spiritual successor

Two _excellent_ games. 4A was obviously heavily inspired by FC2, just as Ubi Montreal was heavily inspired by GSC. Enjoyed the video!

GSC?

The upcoming factions 2 which will be a standalone game seems to be your type of game looking back at the brutal guerrilla type gameplay at factions1 multiplayer. It will be released in sometime next year 2023,be on the lookout for that.

Exodus' guns *will* eventually jam, especially if they're missing furniture. Automatics will become bolt action after getting dirty enough, in some ways a much more severe punishment than the random malfunctions in Far Cry 2

Trust me, if you play far cry 2 on the infamous difficulty, you will not get into fire fights "willy-nilly", and surviving said fights will not feel "inconsequential"
@Atestinal3 жыл бұрын
Ahh, I did a letsplay on FC2 on infamous difficulty, and have only played on infamous mode for the last several playthroughs I've done of it. I'm not lacking in experience at top difficulty, if that's what you're inferring. That being said, I do think there's a point to be made about me being used to playing FC2 so many times. My playthroughs aren't going to be the same as someone playing it for the first time or second time. They might not be very good at managing or re-cooping resources. I did notice in my second playthrough of Exodus that my ammo management was much better

@@Atestinal ok fair enough i only have one playthrough on infamous under my belt so far, it felt like a spiritual journey also as a sidenote, i really wish the multiplayer servers were not all empty as i would love to try out the multiplayer gameplay it gives me great joy that you are producing content about this underated gem of a game

@@mybrickhead Nah it's fine. I think you've done me the favor of inadvertently making me realize that comparing my 1 or 2 playthroughs of Exodus to my lengthy Far Cry 2 experience does not necessarily make for a deep, accurate analysis. I'm sure the smarter viewers will already understand that while listening to my opinion, but it's still worth explicitly noting. I was actually debating making a Discord server and having a FC2 channel. It did also cross my mind that FC2 multiplayer game nights would be possible.
