Absolutely fantastic comparison of Phil Hardy's work and product line. The Optima seems to sizzle the most and yes, the oscillating low d note on the Busker is nice. For me, the Chieftain had the sweetest voice. Thank you.

I agree, I like them all, but the Chieftain is also my favorite of the 4. It has such a soothing tone

The oscillation in the busker when you push it is simply fascinating. It’s not like the harmonics are off from a tuning standpoint. It’s just a different expression. That’s quite fascinating.

I think the best way to describe it is the plastic head ones are more "muted" in sound if that makes sense, they also seem to be less snappy as in when playing faster tunes the response is not as snappy as with the others. I still think the cheapest of all has a lovely strange tonal quality i really like very smooth. My decision now is between the busker and the chieftain.

I agree. The Chieftain seems smoother, but that’s my current feeling (which could change tomorrow). I agree on the muting of the tone based on the plastic in the head.

the chieftain seems "brighter" than the busker? I think i'm going to bust myself getting the busker :) after all. I really like that more mellow sound. I missed the bargain sale sadly contacted Phill they're gone .

I do really like the busker, but personally, the more mellow tone of the chieftain V5 makes me feel better when I play it. Sorry the sales not still going.
