We live in NC in a suburb just west of Charlotte. I've been a Relocation specialist and Statistical Analyst since 1985. Though Raleigh has its merits, I definitely prefer Greenville over Raleigh as cities AND the Greenville/Spartanburg Metro Area over the Raleigh/Durham Metro Area, for pretty much the same reasons. Greenville and GSP is more affordable, GSP's Buying Power (income vs overall cost of living) is 21.17% better than the national average and RDU's is 1.36% worse than the national average. I like it's location better, love its mountain setting, one of the best downtowns in America, and I prefer its political climate. Both have friendly residents, have about the same recreational assets overall, and have overall attractive settings. I give RDU edges in economy and healthcare. Overall, I just think Greenville offers more of what those fleeing CA, MA, NY, NJ, and IL are looking for. I hear this from clients and those wanting to relocate to NC/SC every single day. So, in this case, Greenville would be my choice. Great video, thanks for posting.

I'm a Raleigh guy. For jobs/careers, Raleigh-Cary-Morrisville (and RTP) wins. Retirees are better in Greeneville.

Between the two overwhelming choice would be Greenville. In fact would love to retire there.
