Comparing Hair Extensions: Cheap vs Expensive!
I'm trying two sets of halo hair extensions from Amazon. One set is under $10 and the other is under $90. Halo hair extensions are all about connivence, comfortability, and user friendly. So today, I'm putting them to the test on how easy each set is to put on, style and wear. In my opinion, halo hair extensions are not the most secure so they're perfect for a night out, lunch with your BFF or simply when you longer/thicker hair. Let's try these hair extensions and see what kind of similarities and differences they have.

The synthetic ones need to be styled with a clamp iron on the coolest setting possible and set with pin curl clips. Alternatively, you can also use steam or hot rollers.

Suggestion # 1 - It would have been better to curl your hair to match up with the pre-curled $9 extensions, rather than trying to curl them with the curling iron. #2 It would be really easy to just add a little headband or accessory to cover the attachment string. #3 - For $9, those would be SUPER affordable and look totally fine for a special event or photos. All of your videos are top notch.

I have made my own halo extension by using hair weft from a hair supply. So easy and much cheaper plus you can control how much hair and use a better hair than synthetic.

Personally in my opinion once you learn how to care for synthetic fiber like it better because the curl stays in better. Also a tip when your curling synthetic hair when you release the curl you need to pin it until it cools once it cools let the curl drop then it will stay.

Also make sure your iron isn’t too hott for the synthetic, i would keep your iron between 250-290 degrees.

I think with the expensive one you'd need two to look more natural. It just didn't look that good. It was too thin, and the color, at least on my monitor, was not as close as you kept claiming it was. Very noticeable difference. The cheap one looked good right off the bat. You didn't really need to do anything to it, even though you tried.

once you wash the expensive ones once , they fluff up like real hair then it will make it worth . i.e. wearing extensions for 16 years lol

You can purchase wig clips at Sally Beauty and either sew them or glue them to the lace of the Halo to make them more secure. Also you can get thinning shears to clip out some of the hair on the cheaper halo.

Synthetic, heat friendly, extensions need to cool down before you release the curl. Once the hair cools the curl will set. I actually prefer really good heat friendly synthetic to human hair, because once you style it it's permanent. It will stay in that style even through washing. You don't have to restyle them every time you wear them.

I have over a 150 wigs and many of them are synthetic and wig manufacturers are now making synthetic wig hair out of heat resistant materials. Thus, you now can use heat tools on the wigs to curl them. You do have to use the heat tool on lower settings though.

With synthetic hair, it's better to try to wear them as is. Style your natural hair in the waves first, then add the keratin weave.

Great video ...I am a hairdresser...some helpful hints ...You are not supposed to use heat on synthetic hair...but they would have looked better if you had curled your hair ...or pinned your hair half up thus allowing you to pin the extension a little

I think the real hair looked more, well, realistic. The cheaper one was fuller but it looked very wiggish to me.

I agree. The cheap ones do look thicker, but it’s a double edged sword because real, long hair gets thinner at the ends. So the fact that it’s all thick just screams “hair extensions!” The expensive ones were thinner, so maybe not quite as pretty, but they also look more natural.

@@riggs20 depends on your natural hair and if you have layers or all one length. My hair is a lot thicken than hers and a lot thinker than those thin extensions.

As amazing as it feels to have “sewn in” hair extensions, they really damage your hair. I had mine in on and off for a few years and my hair thinned really badly and ended up with no length at all 🥴

I recently tried the 20in halo from Full Shine (on amazon). It was around $60 and they do say it's 100% human hair but I'm sure it's not. Not that tab quality is terrible just that when you style it a few hairs just melt into your hair styling tools. But it does feel and look amazing. 😊♥️

I had to get my hair trimmed s bot more than I wanted so might get the 14 inch ones. The only thing is it's hard to judge the color over the internet. It looks better than I would have guessed. Nice match on both. If one were to wear them daily def get the expensive one.

Halo extensions will never blend in and look completely normal unless they are placed more on top to hide all the hair underneath. You’re better off with two clip in wefts so the hair blends better

Synthetic extensions don't ever style because they aren't real hair so it doesn't take too heat at all obvi lol . I've had that experience once when I was new to the extension game lol. This video was fun to watch though !

I have the same texture and length. I use clip ins but I’ve also used tape ins which I loved as well. Right now I’m trying to get my hair as healthy as possible so clip ins are the way to go!! You can get them thinner as well so they blend better

Clip ins gave me a bald patch so I use halo types but the prices have gone up a lot for remy human hair which is thick in the UK

The permanent ones that are sewn into a corn row braid, are very dificult to wash and comb and get matted over time , also sleeping in them messes up their sheen and texture

You have naturally pretty hair. Don't ruin it by slapping fake or other peoples (Unknown Humans) hair that others will eventually be able to detect, devaluing what is actually naturally yours, making you look fake!.... Way too many women/girls are walking around with this stuff in their head and for what? They don't have cancer! They don't have balding, they don't have a medical condition, they don't have severely damaged hair they are trying to hide or they aren't a ethnicity with difficult hair, which may require such work!.... The women from the poorer countries either sell their hair for money, or they are forced to give their hair, basically its being stolen from them, and then sold for their profit. It was already wavey. You have to order straight, wavey, or curly.

I liked the cheaper ones better. The color looked better and it was harder to see where your natural hair ended. The expensive ones looked greasy and limp, and even after styling, you could very clearly see where your natural hair ended

If you have short hair, it's better to go for real hair. Synthetic is going to look real shiney in the light. If your just after thickness, go for high quality synthetic that can be heat styled.

Your going to put heat on the sythetic? Its not going to really curl. Im sure you know the heat must be low. Lol...but im sure you know what you are doing. Lol...all you can do..on low, is straighten the hair. Cant curl it.
